I like the animated style books. I bought the Batman one and the JLA one for a long time. I stil buy the JLU one. I *would* have bought the Teen Titans one, but I missed the first several issues and haven't felt tenacious enough to seek them out.

SO, I'd definitely support a Legion one. In fact, I'd probably have to get two of each issue, one for reading and abusing and one to bag and save.

I like the way the design aspect is already taken care of, so there isn't any major discrepencies between artists' interpretations. Like, it's already fun.

If it's decent, I'll buy it... if not, two unreadable LSH books may be enough to mke me drop buying current altogether.

Depends on your ARness.

Justice League Adventures #3 (Mar 2002) featured Daxamites.

Justice League Adventures #12 (Dec 2002) featured Polar Lord and other Tharrians.

Justice League Adventures #28 (Apr 2004) is the issue that actually features the Legionnaires.

I keep thinking that there was at least one more AR appearance either in this series or Unlimited, but I don't remember which (if it exists).

Gary got them and, like he said, depends on how AR you are. There is one more but I cannot find a record of it but I know I saw it. Saturn Girl appeared at the tail end of a story, I know she did. Does anyone remember what issue?

Adventures in the DC Universe #10 , cover date 1/1999. As seen in the splash page in that link, however, the costumes are different from the TV episode (see pictures earlier on the page). It has been suggested that since these costumes matched those seen in the then-current series, this might be an in-continuity story and not one from the "Animated Universe" despite the Animated-style artwork.

The problem with that theory though is that both Inferno and Ferro are present. As far as I know, the only time that would have been possible in the previous continuity was when the team was in the present time. Inferno stayed in the past and Ferro came forward, so I don't see where AitDCU#10 would have fit.

I'd buy it, but then again I'm a FANatic.

There is no better Super Hero group to have ever been in comics than the Legion of Super Heroes.

Yes most assuredly yes, when can you have too many Legion books at the comic shop. More than likely the book would be an “All-ages” book which will hopefully draw more kids to the stores. What better way for the next generation of Legion fans to continue the devotion & love of these characters all the way to the 31 century!! hug

I reread that one a few weeks ago, and as I recall Inferno wasn't in it. So it really could've fit into the main continuity anytime shortly after LSH#100, which came out the same month.

It would also be the Post-Zero Hour debut of Benn Pares. And only appearance, if I recall correctly.

Justice League Adventures #21 featured a female telepathic Titanian (??) ancestor of Saturn Girl, with Imra's picture on the last page (this is the one Scott was thinking of) smile The Dominators were the bad guys in this one (notice their shadows on the cover).

There is also another one, a cameo in Justice League Adventures #11 . Flash and Atom fight Chronos, and on page 7 while they are using the Cosmic Treadmill, time shatters, and one of the pieces breaking away from them shows Saturn Girl, Brainy, Cos, Cham, and Tasmia, in all their animated glory. Most of the other DC futures are there too, Tommy Tomorrow, OMAC, Hex, and others. smile

I just reread #21, and Imra's ancestor (Kayla Ardeen) was not from Titan (yet anyway).

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">She was a human whose ancestors were abducted by the Dominators for experimentation, and they had gained powers of telepathy as a result of the experiments. They then rebelled against the Dominators (a la "Legend of Valor" anyone?) and she escaped to Earth for help. The Justice League intervened and had to determine who was the threat. Naturally, they ultimately said they would help Kayla defeat the Dominion, but Kayla decided to take the fight back to the Dominators, so she and her people could fight their own battle and find their own refuge.</span></span>

Kayla was inspired at how the League worked together, and said "...perhaps out in the stars, someday heroism will inspire a Legion.".

In the background of that narration, in the final panel, are Triplicate Girl (in her Triad costume), Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, Chameleon Boy, and Brainiac 5. They have the "look" of the animated Superman series where they came back in time to stop Brainiac from killing Clark as a teen (episode: "New Kids in Town").

New facts:

Drake, I now think we aren't talking about the same comic. I now literally have Adventures in the DC Universe #10 sitting right in front of me. While the image you posted looks like the same art team, it doesn't actually appear in the comic; the cover image is completely different--the Legion is swooping down against a background of orangish buildings.

(Spoiler Warnings)

The story title is "The Blobs" and features two crosscutting plots: most of the team is out in space, and deals with an escalating series of threats that end up being revealed as Sensor Snake illusions, cast while she was hurt and delirious. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Chuck, Tenzil, Brainy, Gates, and Ferro deal with Benn Pares, who wanted to steal some stuff from Brainy's lab.

(End Spoilers)

Inferno wasn't in it, and neither was Andromeda. Live Wire had his cybernetic arm. While M'Onel appears on the cover, he isn't in the issue itself save for one panel in flashback. Really, there's nothing to majorly contradict this story happening in the Reboot canon sometimes between LSH#100 (it was released the exact same month) and Brainy, Gates, and Kinetix joining Lar and Laurel in the anomaly an issue or two later.

Hm -- well, I have no idea where that image came from then. I only got it from the website that's linked on the previous page of this thread.

I would definitely support an animated series book!

The animated series book would have distinct advantages in that it doesn't have to tie in with any DC continuity, and can feature any kind of hero (and villians) from any and all Legion versions. Plus, I favor the concise, one or two issue resolved storyline approach predominantly used in the other animated series books.

I'd much rather buy an "animated series"-based comic, than the threeboot one. DC's already shown with their Batman work, that being based off of the cartoon doesn't mean they talk down to readers.

Geez, I'm enjoying the cartoon so much more than the current book. Of course I'd buy an animated based comic of them.

The only thing i've enjoyed in the current book is... um... hmm.

I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman.
But they won't.

According to Bob Wayne , don't "act surprised" if an animated comic comes out! Personally, I think if it's renewed for a second season, the comic's a shoo-in.

J. Torres is already listing himself as a contibuting writer to "Legion of Super Heroes" on his website. I think we can assume they're well into the scripts of an animated book.

Hehe he should reimagine the Legion as Degrassi High... of Space.

Another creator has popped up as working on a print version of the animated series. Chynna Clugston. At least according to Rich Johnston in his latest Gutter . He says she mentions it in her blog . Unless she has had to remove the mention I don't see it.
