1) Is this news?

JSA DC direct Starman Figure

and if not, does anyone know how it will be that (as seen in the inset) he has both a masked and unmasked face? Interchangeable heads?

2) What is up with the L03W release schedule? Issues 2 and 3 come out consecutive week in Oct, more than 1 month after issue #1, then #4 is not even mentioned through November and Dec (though the latter is still mostly unfilled).

1a. No, it's not. Comic Book Resources had a photo of the figure displayed at San Diego.

1b. Multiple heads.

2. Annoying, isn't it?

The Starman figure has been discussed here before (can't find the thread at the moment...and the multiple heads was first shown at SDCC).

Can't find the thread as well.

My question is simple: Is this Starman figure larger than the DC Direct Legion figures, or is it the same size? Would look kind of strange if Starman would be much taller than Cos and Lightning Lad, wouldn't it?

He -is- larger... they're using the "Ross Scale" they gave the Kingdom Come and Justice Ross figures.

Seems to be the case a lot recently. Wasn't the Supergirl figure they did some months ago on that scale as well? Do they do any DC Direct scale anymore?

I got Batman and Nightwing from the "Hush" series, they are larger than the Legionnaires as well. Probably that's the format. Hm. Ordering Starman, or not ordering.... hm hm hm....

I think it's artist-specific lines... Ross for definite, Jim Lee's HUSH, McGuinness' S/B series of figs (I think, I need to compare his Superman/Batman figure with the "1st Appearance" Composite Superman... )

I could probably see posing Ross Starman with the rest of the LSH... he's the adult Thom. And if he's really out of proportion, stand him off to the back...

I looked at the "other views" too. His face looks great.

SPOILER

Can I just say that I'm so glad that he's currently not mentally ill (in the JSA book). I look forward to seeing what happens with him.

Don't wish too soon - the clues so far suggest that it may not be good.

Guess you're right, you just have to get a Legion figure when there's one out there... the costume looks just to good to pass. I'll just put him next to my Batman and try to get that Supergirl they did a few months ago as well...

Any chance they will be doing a "George Perez" Legion line? Oh my good, that would be awesome... maybe finally substituting my DC Direct Saturn Girl, who is incapable of standing without Lightning Lads help smile

And finally a Phantom Girl... hm...

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Which leads me to this odd remark:

Two heads is GREAT news ... bigness, not so much.

Actually, that could be a humorous aspect for "LO3W" or any other multiverse story: it would make sense that different universes would have slightly different physical constants, etc., so that the sizes of objects (and people) from different universes would be slightly different.

Doesn't help us in this case, though, since Thom is supposed to be from the same universe as the adventure figs...still, I'd love it if the post Zero=hour legion shows up, and they're all dwarf-sized.

I just saw the solicitation info on DCBS' site updated for September preorders. Starman's listed as 7 1/4 inches.
