Legion World and LMBers,
You now know that Eryk Davis Ester and I have decided to end the Triumvirate once and for all, given the recent wars with the Dark Oval, and more importantly, the loss of Greybird from our ranks. Rather than replace him, it is fitting to end the existence of the Triumvirate all together. It was once formed to defend Legion World and the United Planets against threats from afar, such as the Barbarian Hordes that ravaged space half a decade ago. The armies defended Legion World in its worst times of trouble, such as during the Dark Stu Saga and the Invasion. However, the United Planets Military is strong once more and the need for private armies has decreased greatly. I know it will be to some of your liking that no private armies exist on Legion World, so I do not expect much talk about this.
Instead, as both Eryk and I have upwards of hundreds of thousands of loyal soldiers to ourselves, we have begun a new undertaking. A few years ago, Eryk Davis Ester’s armies laid down their arms and took up a life of peace on Greg Evignan Island, becoming more like monks, in attempts to enlighten themselves. Most agree with this lifestyle, although there are some that would still rather be soldiers.
For my own army, we have continued to defend the UP and Legion World and have engaged in countless bloody struggles. I know that after the last losses we suffered, despite our victories, many soldiers are wary of war, and would prefer to be at peace.
A third factor weighs in greatly. In the war on the Dark Oval, my armies and the United Planets liberated a series of subjugated planets that were controlled by the Dark Oval, and these planets have been added to the UP. However, despite their new freedom, they are still in a ravaged state, and there are many bandits, enemies and subversive elements there, most likely state-sponsored by the Dark Oval itself. There is an air of lawlessness in the Contested Territories, as they’ve come to be known, and it edges on the brink of chaos.
Eryk Davis Ester and I have once more decided to combine our armies, and make them armies no longer. The Soldiers will be knights, loyal to Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester and thus, loyal to the United Planets and Legion World, and the spirit of freedom that is encompassed in those institutions. They will be joined by the monks of Greg Evignan Island and the two will flourish together, producing a new breed of hero, that of warrior-monks, seeking to bring truth and justice to the world, to prevent lawlessness, and to expand the enlightenment of the mind and soul. It will be obvious where we will begin—in the Contested Territories themselves, attempting to give safe passage to all travelers there and to protect the roads, so terrorism and piracy cannot reign without punishment.
As always, we will be headquarted at Greg Evignan Island on Legion World, tough the majority of our order will be in the Contested Territories under the command of Eryk and myself. The United Planets has already negotiated with our Ambassador Faraway Lad, and agreed to this and welcomes this chance of protecting the Contested Territories without spreading the UP military too thin.
I tell you this because I know you would be interested, but more so because now Legion World will have no armies to protect it as it once did. Thus, the LMB will have to be more vigilant and more courageous than ever, which I’m sure it will.
I look forward now to our new order of warrior-monks, the Order of the Space Knights Templar, and the good we will do for the universe.

Why do I get the feeling that I'm going to end up in a tower somewhere, wearing a pointy hat?

At least you won't have to shave your head. Isn't that what monks do, even warrior monks?

Er, some of the records from 2,000 years ago are blurry, so we're not doing that rule... (Not when you look as good as I do )

We're not one of those head-shaving or self-flagellation orders!

Doesn't monkhood usually involve vows of chastity? Can't see that working long for Cobie.

No, on second thought let's not go to Greg Evigan Island.
It's a silly place.
