Who's thinking of going where?!? I just checked the Wondercon (San Francisco) website and they added Mark Waid to the mix and there's rumors of an X-Men 3 presentation so it should be a fun show.

I should be going to:
Wondercon (San Francisco)
APE (Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco)
San Diego Comic-Con

I'd love to hit up:
Wizard World Los Angeles
Heroes Con (one of those 'Carolina' states)

What other cons are fun?

Wizard World Boston was fun because we had so many of us there.

I hear the con in Orlando is pretty good also (MegaCon maybe?) but I've never been, though STU has so he could comment.

I believe Heroes Con is in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC

I'm planning on attending Wizard World San Diego in July...

And in an odd twist of fate the real Pagan Lass just asked me a few minutes ago if I'd made my reservations yet...

So, any of you California types want to reccomend a good hotel in downtown San Diego?

C'mon people we need at least 14 people in San Diego to break the Boston Attendance Record!

Wizard World acquired San Diego!? Or is this separate from Comicon International?

I'd love to do SD:CI again; haven't been in years; but having been to two Wizard events, I don't know that a WW (possibly other than Chicago) is worth a big trip... unless a bunch of us are gathering, of course.

A buddy and I are planning to do one of the Big Apples shows - in February; they're worth a one-day visit to Manhattan.

Other than that, and hopefully SD, I don't plan any cons, unless a LW gathering emerges (but I'm hoping to see that for SD, myself).

Just Bristol in May. I've already got the table booked and stuff and as soon as the hotel discount rate is announced I shall be booking my room as well. Unfortunately what with holiday in Canada in the summer and then the wedding in October that's the only one I'm going to be able to make this year. Anyone planning on crossing the pond to visit us? I understand that Geoff Johns has been confirmed as a guest as has Roy Thomas. Plus there should eb the usual suspects like Mike Carey and John McCrea.

I'm a lock for the San Diego Comic-Con and for Atlanta's Dragon*Con (which is more media-oriented than comics-oriented).

I'm either going to Wizard World Chicago or Baltmore's Otakon depending on how many of my APA crew and other friends will be attending the former.

I've never been to Heroes-Con, but I've heard good things about it.

i may go to the one in BRISTOL [ need to get time off work first !!] it would be cool to meet GEOFF JOHNS !!

theres one coing up in MANCHESTER in February [ 11th - 12th at the G-Mex ] which features Sci TV stars, including:

Avery Brooks andMichael Dorn from 'Star Trek' DS9 & TNG !!

and also Ian Somerhalder from 'LOST" who would be all really cool to see !!

also in July [ in COVENTRY ] theres a SMALLVILLE convention [ so far the only named star is Sarah Carter ] i'd love it if Tom Welling was gonna be there, but i guess the really big stars don't usually go ??

i'd still love to see any of the other main cast members, though !!

Matthew.

I won't be attending any of them, even San Diego which is relatively close to me. I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention...

given that my new hobby is going to have me trapsing around the country for most of the summer, and the fact that I too have a little wedding to pay for, i am not likely to get across the water this year. (Lottery wins excluded of course)

Bristol might be a runner as the flights down are pretty cheap, but i might just have to fly down and back in a day. What dates are they going for again Bevis?

I am going to try to go to MegaCon in Orlando. I went once years ago and had fun. It's the only con i've ever been too.

Bristol is the 13th and 14th of May this year. I think I'm going to stay down for the Sunday as well this year.

It'd be good if you can come though since it's been, oooh, two, maybe three years since I last saw you there.

So far only Gigglebot Con in December 2006 for me.

If there's a gathering in New England, I'm sure Pov and I will be there (remember, we're like the Butch and Sundance of LW gatherings!).

Not sure if a trip across the US is possible this year, but there's always a 50/50 shot.

Everyone be sure to continue saving for the massive gathering of us in two years or so... laugh

Kent, last I heard, Wizard doesn't own San Diego con (yet?). There's a Toronto con that always looks like it has a great guest list. Emerald City Con is cool but its during my birthday this year and I don't think all my friends and family would fly up to Seattle. Heroescon is really cool but it soooooo far from California! Anybody ever been to the Angouleme comics festival in France? I've heard its crazy-massive.

http://www.comic-con.org/wc/
Legion folks like Mark Waid, Mark and Laura Allred, Mick Gray, and Steve Wacker are scheduled to attend...

They've got a killer lineup there this year, from what I've read so far. No way I can make it, though.

Are people conventioned-out for this year?

Chicago (Wizard) is August 3-6 - I'm headed there to meet up with a bunch of Klordny members.

Baltimore (September 9-10) has a wonderful guest list, according to my tastes, including Barry Kitson & Mark Waid, so I am going to try and make that one as well. If anyone else is thinking of going, please be advised that hotel rooms are going fast because the evil and nefarious Yankees are in town that weekend. No doubt many people want to go see them lose.

Ooh, I might be able to head over to Baltimore, actually. Probably not but we'll see. It'd definitely be last minute if I did go, though, seeing as I'll be in Dominican Republic 'til the 7th.

As for the San Fran one-- I'm a definite maybe!! It'd be a good excuse to visit the 'rents. Will have to check the school/work schedule, of course, but we'll see!

Although, I'm sort of afraid to go to more cons... after I made such an arse of myself at this one. wink It could be fun, though. And the pass is good for a year...

(Ooooh, lookie who's back!)

I'm heading out to Chicago this year, as well as DragonCon. August is a busy month for me, travel-wise. =)

Any LegionWorlders out there hitting those cons, be sure to keep an eye out for me! I'll be sure to do the same.

Hey K, how's it goin'?

I'm a lock for Dragon*Con this year and I'll probably make Baltimore as well.

Chicago doesn't look too likely, though.

I thought my 2006 con season was over but this thread is perking my interest. I asked y'all before but where is Baltimore again? Is that a state? A provence perhaps? Californians don't really care much about states past Vegas...

You Californians are so cute - Vegas isn't a state! (Yet.)

Baltimore is just north of Washington DC, in the state of Maryland. For the airport, type "BWI" into your on-line travel site, enter credit card and you're there.
