So a review I read of said comic mentions not only a Legion appearance but a frickin' WANDERERS appearance in the finale of Morrison's run?

Can somebody spill on the details of which version it is? (I'm assuming either classic or '80s makeover and not the Reboot Legionnaires last seen with that nomenclature?)

Spoilers and images, please!!!! Much apreesh in advance!

I think I would pee myself with joy (no, not really) if it was the reboot legion. Seriously. That would just...it would make me REALLY HAPPY. Especially with how down i'm feeling about the Legion lately? THIS WOULD BE OUTSTANDING. Even if only for an issue.

Find the review here. Page down toward the bottom. (It's a negative review, btw, but not obstensibly because the Wanderers appear.)

It's a completely new version of Super-Sapiens, hyper-evolved members of various alien races. Captain Comet being one of them.

Pretty cool.

For what it's worth, I completely disagree with the review; This was AMAZING. The perfect catharsis, FILLED with new ideas, wonderful commentary on the nature of ideas as transcending corporate institutions ("it's all so STICKY and COMPLICATED"), a perfect exploration of everything that Superman is and what he means to everyone, what it means to be a hero, and what the 5th Dimension is through children, the impossible nature of hope, the inherent good of humanity, the undeniable optimism of the future...

And the Legion was the best they've been in decades, here.

Hm. Slightly disappointed that they don't more overtly resemble the originals. I can see some riffs on them, though.

If it's not the actual Wanderers from past Legion stories, why use the name Wanderers? They can't come up with a different name? The Roamers, Galactic Nomads, Day Trippers, Pet Shop Boys?

This annoyed me with Mark Waid using the name for a completely different group of characters. Must all continuity be trashed and discarded, and for no apparent good reason?

It seems like a rebooted Super-Companions would've filled the role better.

Be careful what you wish for, my friends!

I hereby predict--nay, gauranty!!!--that should the original Wanderers appear in a DC comic in the next 36 months, it will include the gruesome deaths of at least two of the members!

Would it be sacrilege for me to say this looks pretty awesome?!?!

I mean it looks like we have characters here who could be Quantum Queen, Dartalg/Dartalon, Ornitho/Aviax (or possibly Immorto/Re-animage?), Psyche and Celebrand.

I don't know if each character is named in the issue. (Any help there, Desaad?) But it seems it's essentially the original Wanderers with new looks. Is that really a bad thing? I know that I would be interested in picking up a DC book with these characters as they appear here, and I'm as down on DC as I've ever been!

I'm thrilled to bits that this version, unlike Waid's threeboot incarnation, so closely resembles Shooter's originals.

Paladin, named in the story are Photine(Quantun Queen), Quiller(Dartalg), and Elvith(a female Elvo). There's also an Ornitho doppelganger(unnamed), and the leader seems to be a new version of Captain Comet.

Oh, and I agree that it was a brilliant issue! A wonderful end to Morrison's great run on this book!

It was a good issue all around. I'll miss this version of the Legion who sacrifice themselves to re-write their future. I also like how Morrison wrote himself, his wife, Morales and Fisch into the story. The Wanderers were fun in their brief appearance, and the bits in the 5th dimension were well done. More Krypto please.

I mean, just looking at that page, I wish DC would do a Wanderers series! They deserately need a cosmic series that isn't Green Lantern-centric (from what I hear, Threshold ain't the answer), and this new Wanderers concept looks like just the thing.

Erik Drekken also joins the Wanderers after he evolves to a supermind. Drekken's the member of the Anti-Superman Army who can evolve/devolve at will. Once he reaches a higher plain of consciousness he realises that he's on the wrong side of the conflict and joins Blake's Wanderers (who are all also evolved beyond their species).

I'm probably gonna have to pick up this issue, or possibly the eventual trade to get the bigger picture.

Hmm, I loved the first few issues of Action and then lost interest. I do love the Wanderers! And I admit the preview I saw in this post they look great! I will check out this issue now.

Don't really love the way they look but don't mind it either. Dartalag always looked cooler when he wasn't a generic oversized monster, Quantum Queen looks better...hot, Psyche does as well.

But a more alien look to all of them is cool.
