I think it will be me and Lash trying to figure out how to get Ester out of the space-concrete without snapping his head off.

I still believe in happy endings.

It will end, after four sequels and a spin-off.

It will end with Lasher and Fanfic dueling tiddlywinks at the end of time with a mixed drink in one hand, and a blowgun in the other.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

Something pithy!

It will end in a shot of the detective walking back from an autumnal graveyard, telling his partner "Who knew the toothpicks were really the grave markers of the people he met in the forums."

It will end with cameos by all the star-studded supporting cast who have appeared throughout its decades-long run. The audience will weep, cheer, laugh, and reminisce one last time.

For years after, there will be numerous calls for the thread's main participants to regroup for one last hurrah, but many will not; they realize it will be impossible to live up to past glories.

"The thread must go on." It sounds good in principle, but those in the know also understand the saying, "always leave them wanting more."

But every five years on the anniversary of this thread, that same handful will grow wistful, and raise a glass to their one-time fellow posters. They will deny this in interviews, and keep this secret even from their families. It will just be too personal, too intimate. Over the decades hence, as that handful slowly passes on to the great javascript in the sky, it will eventually be left to the last surviving poster to pay homage to that singular golden era of thread posting. By then, other great threads may well have emerged; imposters all. Centuries from now, only stuffy academics and a handful of diehards will truly understand and appreciate the magic that was this thread.

It will end with a dance number involving every LMBer ever led by Floating Foxlike Creature Boy, Blok the Pet Rock and the Emerald Ass of Ekron.

It will end with someone leaving a rose on a small impromptu grave for the thread each year on the anniversary of the last post.

A tradition that will continue long after the last poster has travelled into the great empty comics pages full of possibility beyond.

Then the press will ruin it by camping out trying to learn the identity of the mystery rose leaver.

I would have bought a haunted Legion World for pittance. And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!

Another thread ends up discussing rear ends. I just hope I'm not the butt of the joke this time.
