It's Bleeding Cool/Rich Johnston so take it with a big grain of salt:

Don't know how I feel about this (if true). The delays with Doomsday Clock are painful, but at least there was the feeling that there was a plan in place. Now? Not so much.

Hmmm...

If there's any truth the story a few weeks ago that Geoff Johns's alleged feet-dragging was what had caused prospective Legion writer Jonathan Hickman to walk away from DC and return to Marvel, then I wonder -- could that have been one of the main things that caused this recent editorial/executive shakeup?

Now, since Jim Lee was reportedly the one who had "snared" Hickman in the first place, might there be another Hickman flip-flop about to happen?

No real difference to me either way. If Hickman doesn't write the Legion, I won't shed a tear (I'm not a fan, and that's as far as I'm gonna go there.) And if he does write the Legion, that'll save me $ 4.00 every month.

To be perfectly Frank(-ie Kane,) DC could hire any one of my favorite writers (Kelly Thompson, Peter David, Hope Larson (who was reportedly in the running at one point,) Mike Carey, Andy Diggle) and I probably would put the first issue back on the shelf after skimming through it.

The shakeup was a good start, but in my opinion, Warners needs to take it all the way and clean out all of what is now the "old guard."

Still "Fickles" to my friends.

I'll mourn for Hickman, but I await his return. No good writer stays down for long, they return like Adam Warlock, different but the same.

I think they realize they have to use these properties while the public's attention is on them for the TV and movies. This is probably the best chance for a solid revival of Legion and Shazam at the least.

This whole debacle reminds me of why I have very little interest in a Legion set in the main DCU "continuity".

I don't *hate* Hickman's writing but it doesn't really do anything for me either...I tried his FF & Avengers at Marvel and gave up early on for both because I feel like he doesn't really inject any soul or sense of humor into the characters; eg his Johnny Storm seemed more insufferably smug than fun....also kinda felt like a lot of his huge Avengers cast were wasted, especially the lower powered ones, and it makes me wonder how well he'd do with someone like Triad or Vi who generally shine in a story because of their personality rather than their powers.

Ditto! The 20th/21st century DCU connections have been nothing but trouble to the Legion ever since Crisis.

Better to just leave that mess alone and forge their own path.
