Hey, you know how in the present DCU there's all these characters whose schtick is that they use ancient weapons like swords or bows and arrows or maces and stuff?

There should be a character in the Legion's time who's like that but uses a by-then-ancient-but-to-us-modern weapon like a machine gun! Maybe he could even have trick bullets or something!

Yes! The tommie-gun idea is awesome!

He can model his outfit after Eliot Ness, who will have grown to a Robin Hood-esque legendary figure by the 31st century!

Untouchable Lad!

And he would have to be a hero of the utmost moral superiority--but with a hint of barbaric warrior-lust, since he's using such ancient technology in battle! The perfect dichotomy!

I suggest he have an old fashioned 30's pin-striped 3-piece suit with white shirt, tie and fedora cap. Maybe with a toothpick in his mouth. That would be the equivalent of how we look at Roman armor!

But wouldn't that mean his close teammates face a most certain death?

The really cool thing is when he's fighting a villain who's heavily armored, and the guy's laughing at him and stuff because he's using such a silly weapon and the bullets don't seem to be affecting him, and then Untouchable Lad says something like, "What you don't realize, you dumb mug, is that I just hit you with my nanotech bullets! Even now they are corrupting your systems, see?"

Great minds think alike. When I was a kid, I created my own super-hero team based on the Legion, and one of the characters wore a gangster's suit and carried a machine gun. I called him Mediterranean Lad (which made no sense, of course; I just liked the word).

Perhaps Untouchable Lad is M. Lad's great-great-great-great- ... grandson.

That would be fun to see, an Untouchable Lad.

He'd wear a fedora and three piece suit but like all the historical details would be wrong.

Such as. Wearing a pocket watch when wrist watches were the norm.

I was more thinking of 'BatBoy' a hero who fights crime using a Louisville Slugger. Of course not too much information survives on the actual playing of baseball so he goes around in a catcher's mask hitting trick baseballs at villains with his Louisvile Slugger.

Ooh, perhaps Kid Fedora or whatever comes from a planet that observed Earth through gravitational lensing, and didn't realize that they were viewing the Earth of the early 20th century! (One of those whacky things that happens to super-scientists from alien worlds 1000+ light-years away, forgetting to account for how the planet may have changed in the 10 centuries it took for the images that they are viewing to actually get there!)

He *thought* that the tommy gun was the height of Earth weapons technology, and even designed his using his worlds 'advanced' science to be even better (creating it's own bullets from 'hardened air' for instance), only to finally establish contact with the Earth of 3009 and discovering that the images they'd been viewing had been well over a 1000 years out of date, and that *nobody* wore fedoras or pin-striped zoot suits or talked like a goodfella!

Talk about a crushing blow, intending to come to Earth as 'Untouchable Lad,' and being instantly obsolete!

The gun should shoot some sort of dessert. Pies, perhaps. Or maybe snack cakes. Think of the retro tie-in possibilities!

Not to mention that the Legion would never have a reason for demoting Tenzil to kitchen duty ever again...
