I hadn't seen this addressed yet, but I think the question needs to be asked: in the Johns-boot Legion, does Magnetic Kid exist? He joined the team pre-Crisis, just like Polar Boy (who's actively a member of the team) and Tellus, Sensor Girl and Quislet (missing members whom the Legion is trying to find), but he is neither part of the active Legion nor is he listed amongst the missing. Did he never join? Did he die in some unknown adventure (possibly a Magic Wars analog? But Zerox does still exist as a Sorcerer's World) between Crisis-time and the current Legion era?

I'd assume "resigned" is not an option, if Tyroc and Matter-Eater Lad are also listed amongst the missing.

I know he was in the big spread in issue # 5, but so were Tellus and Quislet, who are listed as missing Legionnaires, yet he isn't.

I've concluded that Geoff Johns didn't want him in Lo3W becuase of the conflict with Rokk - same powers same original costume. Though even this seems a bit tenuous when you've got 3 Legions plus. I imagine the same logic was used for Cham with Yera being featured.

I hope he will appear soon as a Legionnaire with some explanation.

The Tellus position is strange. I assume he is in the 21st Century to stop Mon-El and Yat meeting (next week's Superman) and that this is a Legion mission - so he is on a mission not missing. Unless he hasn't been sent back yet in Legion time.

Good theorising Silver Age Lad! I was a bit baffled when Tellus just swam out of the Superman comic...I didn't understand why he'd even been featured in it. If he's got more stuff coming up I'll be happy. He's my favourite Legionnaire!

And even though I liked Pol I can see why he isn't in Lo3W, they're just sticking with Cosmic Boy.

In fact all the "new" (from 1985! Ha!) Legionnaires with the exception of Polar Boy have been sidelined.

Maybe Pol is the "Cosmic Boy" closest to Kent in the pic? I count four of "him" in that group shot and that's the one in the costume Magnetic Kid adopted.

Wow! You have eagle eyes Yk!

Maybe the Wandering Legion will pick him up soon? Along with all the spares like Catspaw etc.

A miracle of modern Lazar technology!

I don't know for sure if that's Pol but one could make a case for it..and I just now spotted a fifth Rokk Krinn in the big group pic so I say we can let at least one of those be Pol.

and..
I'd LOVE to see those "forgotten" Legionnaires get used for some stories. The Legion gained a few members on the Legionnaires side of things just before Zero Hour killed off everything we'd invested in for forty-something years. I think they got seriously short changed.

Pol's mysterious absence is bugging me too. I wish we'd just gotten an explanation like 'he retired' or 'he's missing' or even 'he died' than the kinda does-he-or-doesn't-he-exist limbo he's in.

I really hope he hasn't been retconned out of membership though. Death to pointless retcons!

I actually assumed he is, and you'll notice I acknowledge that in my post.

But I mean that he's missing from the actual roster of active, known missing or known dead Legionnaires, and logically, he should be there somewhere, since this is supposedly the Legion as continued from just prior to the Crisis.

Except that Reep is acknowledged and listed as a "missing Legionnaire" by Brainy. Pol is nowhere to be seen as having been a Legionnaire in this time-line.

D'oh! I see.

I didn't actually assume that was Pol but it does make sense that at least one of those images is the other Krinn brother.

Huh. No wonder I don't recognize him. I don't know that uniform, but I never read L.E.G.I.O.N. anyway. Thanks, BB.

Remember that the spread was more a poetic licence than a real team-up. There's no way L.E.G.I.O.N. would have been brought ir or even have missing characters showing up and disappearing, like Cham.
And Tellus said he was on a mission on that Jimmy Olsen special, didn't he?

That spread was supposed to be canon. The Legionnaires were pulled from the timestream/multiverse because the founding Legionnaires were at vanishing point - a nexus where all timelines are visible. So Tellus could have been brouht from 5 years before Lo3W, Pol from who knows when. The main significance of this sequence is that Imra was able to access Jimmy Olsen and Kara Zor-El etc from pre Crisis, Kent Shakespeare and Laurel Gand etc from the Glorithverse and so on. So although these timelines aren't part of Earth 0 history, they are still accessible from Vanishing Point and therefore accessible to the Legion in future.

Maybe they're saving that for a storyline where Cos addresses what a person has to give up to lead a team as big as the Legion. Maybe they use Pol as an example, maybe injured in a big battle, hopefully not dead though.

I thought it was ELad since that's the picture in the next panel, but who knows for sure?
