Can someone with the power to do so delete this slanging match or something? Its just dragging a (potentially) good thread down and I don't want to encourage the War of These Two any more.

Why does it "need to go away?" I'm enjoying it right now - what is wrong with it IYO?

On the choices - Busiek, maybe. Not Johns though. After watching him hack Superboy & Impulse to pieces and trying to put them back together as clones of their predecessors, I can't buy the "he respects the characters" lines any more.

Reep, you overreact! And you have no idea what comments I may make to Grey as they are usually in private.

This childishness will end. And I will not be subjected to these ultimatums and demands any longer. For all you know, I've said this exact same thing to Grey, only it's not for the entire message board's eyes. If you need to discuss this further, then e-mail me.

You're now the one bogging down this discussion and turning it into a flame war.

Now to the subject at hand...

I'd like to see Waid return, but I wouldn't mind Busiek. He's stated before that he was a fan.

You know if we do have to lose Chris maybe a period of rotating artists would be fun. First Kitson, then Busiek, then maybe Steve for awhile.

I really hate getting used to (and loving) someone's art to have it yanked away. And to someone I have no visual reference for.

Kitson did swell work on L.E.G.I.O.N. and JLA YEAR 1.

But I *reallllllllllllly* like Batista.

I never really read L.E.G.I.O.N.. My Legion needs to be set in the future.

Strangely, I'm not too sad to see DnA go. They did a tremendous job keeping the Legion from sliding into oblivion, and some of their stories will rank right up there with the all-time classics. But I get the feeling that they've told nearly all the stories they need to. It's time for a new vision for the LSH.

Now as for a replacement, I would love to see Waid back on the book. His first year on the reboot showed that he has a love and respect for Legion history. His White Triangle story is one of my favorites. The only drawback is that I don't think that he'd stick around too long - maybe just long enough to clean up DnA's plotlines.

Count me as another who'd like to see PAD on the series.

I love what Brian K. Vaughn is doing with the teens in "Runaways", but I'm not sure if the Legion would be his type of thing.

Who I _don't_ want: Chuck Austen. His "Uncanny X-men" run makes my eyes bleed...

This is a Fair Warning Post! to alert the flighty and fainthearted that the next post will be a compilation of names suggested thus far as possible replacements for DNA, and - sit down and grab the whiskey - to possibly be used in a Poll on same topic. Repeating for the hearing impared: ...to possibly be used in a Poll on same topic.

Turn away now, lest ye be blinded by Satan's List Of The Unholy Possible Replacements For DNA!

Kurt Busiek would be perfect. He's a great creator and a legion fan to boot. I remember reading somewhere that he tried to get the job of creating the post zero hour legion but it went to Waid instead. I also recall reading that he didn't like the way the post-boot legion was done but after DnA's great run maybe he's changed his mind?

Busiek for Legion Writer!

Don't ask me why I typed Busiek. I think I was looking at Gary's previous post.

Sixthed and Seventhed. Austin's CALL OF DUTY books really pissed me off. Austin knows Firefighters like I know mature social behavior.

Should I add this to the list:

"Anybody, anybody but Chuck Austin."

But then I probably should make it a double question Poll with the second Q being "Who do you most don't want to replace DNA?"

Sounds like a starter to me.

Please gimme some me more Don't-Want names!

Oops, was that another misrepresntation of this topic!!! Gad, they're just piling up! Oh how some must be just bleeding from the eyes and random orifices!

I'll offer the first name of who I don't want to write Legion: ******! Yikes! Can you imagine a total pigeon-girl Legion? They'd be crapping all over the Dead Hero Memorial Statues!

I can't tell, Reep. Is this how you try to ignore Grey, but it doesn't work?

Princess Cru gave a reasoned response to this back-and-forth insult nonsense, and Nightcrawler specifically stated that this childishness should end - obviously, to no avail.

Time out. Thread closed until Dad gets home.

Okay I have unlocked this thread. I will not discuss here, though, anything that caused it to happen or why. This thread needs to stick to the topic at hand.

Not opposed to veering off the track but I don't want to see the slightest flicker of a flame here, even in jest.

I'll refer any interested party to here for off-topic discussion.
