Guess I'll have to lock this thread again. laugh

Actually I'd like to have Tom, Mary and Keith at least tell what happened during Black Dawn. But I really wouldn't want them on the title again.

Why do I feel compelled to see Legionnaires drawn by Mike Mignola? Maybe fighting huge space monsters, giant apes, or Great Cthulhu.

I must be weird.

Not on the Cthulhu part. There isn't near enough of the Old Ones seeing print nowadays. It would make for a very interesting story.

That's what we need... A Mordru, Time Trapper, Cthulhu team-up vs. the Legion.

Should have some eye-watering art. Every page'll need four 'fifth-colour' inks, with pop-ups and scratch'n'sniff. Admissions to mental institutions everywhere would increase upon publication, as Legion fans wander the earth clutching their heads, muttering "Too many colours, swirly lines and tentacles!" wink

I'm quite liking the idea of PAD too. I think he'd probably avoid the out and out comedy of something like Young Justice (which i adored btw) and go more for the mix of humour and drama ala Supergirl, which would work really well with the title. He's also a very good writer of female characters, which is important on a title like Legion where at least half the cast are women.

Geoff Johns I wouldn't want to see though. I love his writing on Flash and JSA but I'm dropping Teen Titans because it's awful. Complete re-write of character that didn't need a re-write in the first place (most notably Beast Boy which is odd condsidering how good the mini he co-wrote with Ben Raab was).

Not sure who else I'd like to see though. Greg Rucka is my man of the moment but he's better at small casts than team books. Actually Jen Van Meter (Writer of Hopeless Savages, generally lovely person and also Greg's Wife) might be quite good.

I am not nearly so convinved. I have never been a fan of PAD. His jokes and puns are always so forced that they only serve to pull me out of the story and ruin my suspension of disbelief.

I only lasted 2 issues on YJ.

Young Justice was very joke orientated and the first few issues aren't a patch on later issues but when PAD concentrates more on the stories and less on the jokes (Supergirl for example, and especially YJ #15 with the Arrowette story which is one of the best, most harrowing comics I've ever read) that's when he really shines. He also has a good mix of light and dark tones to his stories, he's not really grim and gritty but he's not afraid to show the darker sides of life either. I do admit though that he can be a bit of an aquired taste. He's very keen on very long running storylines (Supergirl for example had one storyline that pretty much ran from issue 1 to issue 50) and some people find his writing far too complex in terms of how much is going on at any one time, but those are all things that I like a lot in comics so I'm kinda biased to the way he writes really.

PAD has some neat dialogue, but like PB, I find he pulls me beyond the 'Fourth Wall' just a bit too often.

Todd Nauck could be okay - if just a little bit too cartoony.

Or what about a Hitch/Neary one-shot? I'm sure it would only be six months late, but still well worth it. wink
