b) The Burial Caves of Sagada - you were going to go, but the Legion fought Mordru that month and the old wizard brought back the dead Legionnaires. So you were put off.

I don't think any Legionnaires are buried in Sagada. Though having Sun Boy there would be nice, so I wouldn't have to keep holding onto my lantern.

e) Masskara Festival in Bacolod City - because festivals are never on when it's most convenient for you and they refused to alter it to suit your diary. Blatant cheek and you were quite right to boycott it thereafter.

No, I meant that Mordru bringing back anyone put you off going to burial sites smile

I was still unemployed then, so the Festival was lucky I was able to arrange my schedule to be there.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, I'd hate to play tag with a reanimated corpse anywhere, but it's even worse in a slippery, wet, dark cave tongue

g) The Rolling Hills of Batanes - because they had rolled away before you could get there.

They haven't yet. I told them to wait for me.

Yay! Over to you thothy

Batanes is the northernmost Phil. province, and frankly a pain to get to. Flights aren't daily, and cost more than a flight to neighboring Indonesia or Singapore sometimes

My favourite footy player growing up was...

a) Mick Channon - great scorer with a trademark windmill arm celebration and a penchant for swearing.

b) Steve Moran - young forward at the time, showing bags of promise before back injuries held back his career.

c) Kevin Keegan - European footy player of the season and a Liverpool legend. Joined smaller Southampton after time playing for Hamburg in a surprise move that shocked everyone.

d) Matthew Le Tissier - naturally gifted player who kept his club in the top division year after year.

e) Nick Holmes - versatile, seemingly ever present member of his team from the '70s through to the '80s.

f) Alan Shearer - another top forward who was sold on for a record to Blackburn who would then go on to win the league. Lots of England caps followed but no club success after he moved too Newcastle.

g) Frank Worthington - sideburned gifted individualist with his socks down at his ankles and an Elvis obsession.

Ibby gets it first time...

>thothkins takes deep breath to selflessly congratulate Ibby (yet) again on such an early correct guess, while feeling strangely transparent smile <

Congratulations Ibby!

I was just a little too young for a lot of Channon (now better known as a race horse trainer, giving him a great perspective when nagged by people who think footy is everything)

I would have had to have been older still to have Worthington as the fav, as youngsters are best protected from his notorious romp stories, that he kept going for a lot of his career. His autobiography is called One Hump or Two to give you an idea.

Steve Moran didn't fulfill that early promise and a favourite was already in place.

One of the few times I've seen Alan Shearer deal with a member of the public I thought he was a bit of a t00l. Besides, he got away with a few things on the park he shouldn't have, while the media pretended otherwise. Now seen boring half the country into comas on Match of the Day. He was still developing with us, so not a huge favourite anyway.

Honesty would rule out Le Tissier. A huge favourite among fans, and for good reason. Lost lots of respect when admitting to betting on something in his own game. It may have been seemingly minor, but had it gone well it wouldn't have been the last time. In the end he's not playing to win for the fans, if he's betting to hit the ball out the park at a certain moment. It's simply cheating. Rumors from another departing player were worrying about the extent of this sort of thing. Le Tissier undoubtedly would have been my fav player if I were younger, which would have made reading that bit in his book a lot worse.

Keegan's arrival was a statement of intent that the club could do great things. It pretty much stayed a statement of intent but what a great few years. For a small club, they had a dazzling array of internationals approaching the twilight of their careers. He was already a star player, and I definitely followed his career mainly due to the number of column inches he got in the sports pages. He would undoubtedly be my favourite if people hadn't gone on about him quite as much. There's not a bandwagon I've not waved away gratefully into the distance. He worked really, really hard at his fitness which gave him a real edge where he wasn't quite the most naturally talented.

So the favourite was Nick Holmes. He was just always in the team. In a team in a lower division, in a team getting promotion, in a team in a cup final or in a team studded with internationals reaching 2nd in the top league. He was always there, and never looked out of place in the best period the club I support probably ever had. Reliable, dependable, versatile and loyal and a really good, underrated player. Oh, and I don't know any terrible stories about his past, which always helps.

To make myself feel better, I don't think I mentioned the club I support. smile

Over to Ibbster!

Perhaps I have a little bit of Naltorian on my mother's side. My great, great aunt supposedly had this way of knowing when the kids were about to get up to some mischief...

Sounds like Holmes really deserves to be your fave. Good thing you weren't so invested in Le Tissier. And Keegan sounds like a worthy dude too.

New Q up... soon!

cunningly guessed by Viridis smile

I'll go for H) The Little Mermaid

I mention that I've never seen any of these, but that will have to keep for the Know Your Respondents to the Know Your Legion Worlders Game thread.

Beauty and the Beast was probably my 8th or so. The first version we had was weird, a lot of the scenes were drafts and not the fully animated version yet. I was so happy when we finally got the "full" version.

Little Mermaid was one of the first, but it was not the first. It was one of my favorites though. Whenever Ariel sang Part of Your World I would get chills.

Nope. I loved that movie, though. Some fun songs, and the Chipmunks and Chipettes get to go around the world!

Nope. That scene where Mufasa dies always gets to me. I also stopped scaring away the stray cats in the neighborhood after watching this.

B) Aladdin - and I'm not making any cheap shots about rubbing people up the wrong way ever since. Beside, your partner would beg to differ I'm sure smile

No, not Aladdin. I would say I knew I was gay the moment I saw Aladdin in his bare-chested glory, but that's too cliche tongue

For me, Phantasm is a movie about a floating metal sphere embedding itself in people's heads. Somehow, I don't think they played that to kids.

F) Ducktales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp - see above post for cheecky remark.

I'd have gone for this one first had I noticed the duplication of lamp rubbing.

Men in white, I think my friend is addicted to rubbing his lamp... won't let go of it until something comes out...

Nope, it was one of the first and I am still very fond of it - it held up well on a recent viewing - but not the first.
