In Iceland, a cool bartender let me taste his version of Brennevin (also called the Black Death); he had brewed it himself using Brennevin and moss!

Truthfully, I remember an overpowering amount of flavor and then getting a big smile on my face

Gotta' taste at least as good as absinthe (or the pretend version you can find in local liquor stores). I could never figure out how anyone could stand that stuff.

I think most people get knocked out before they can actually taste it

I actually don't mind a good absinthe when it's prepared properly. But yeah, the stuff in the states isn't great. Either way you have to have a taste for it.

Oddly enough, speaking about mossy liquors, I'm not a big fan of most scotches. The peatyness off it turns me off, so I typically will go the bourbon route for amber liquor.

When I could still drink straight liquor, I was much more about bourbon, too. The peat overtones just make me feel like I'm drinking shampoo.

I'm happy enough with wine and beer fewer and less severe hangovers too

I pretty much have to stay in the wine lane these days. Or make a fancy cocktail.

A nice white wine is great for the summer heat!

I've known different people who were sensitive to different types of booze. I assume it has something to do with the additives in some of them. Sulfites in wine, for instance. Some people don't react well to those.

I know at least one person, who can handle red wine, but not white wine.

I can't handle "Red Red Wine," whether it's sung by Neil Diamond or the guy from UB40.
