Huh - I thought I had posted my reply, but I don't see it...

I remember the invaders first changed into Cham, so there were three Reeps, then Tenzil opens his mouth about how easy that is, then they all shift into doppelgangers of Tenz, Chuck and Marla.

After that I think they each take on their own Doppleganger, so Chuck for Chuck, etc.

you got it, that was part of it (each first impersonating Cham, then when Tenzil makes a crack each morphs into one of Tenzil, Chuck, Marla. then, each taking their own doppelganger, so they would know who was real and fake). Another one is that the doppelgangers did not seem to be able to talk. So the real ones kept talking so everyone would know who was who.

Lost Legion Limbs!

Okay, here's one that will likely go sideways very quickly, but what Legionnaires and Legion enemies have lost appendages on panel?

(You all will probably remember others of the bunch I'm thinking of so first one to get any of those PLUS the ones I'm thinking of will win here)

Wildfire, every time someone punctures his suit
Vi got her leg blasted in v4, later amputated.
Lightning Lad, and then every time his robot one got blasted.
Blok. Every limb I think.
Loomis, although the panel had battle effects, the text was him screaming about his arm.
Cham in some duel.
Rond against Superspud Prime? Possibly other, non titan, limb losses in that one.
Can we count Arm Fall Off Boy?
Brek, against Earth Man and cronies.

Garth is the obvious one, it's kinda his thing

I don't think we actually SAW Polar Boy lose his arm in
Geoff's Future Nazi Saga?

Ima say Kal because guaranteed there's a Silver Age story where red kryptonite made his leg fall off or something lol

Oh yeah 5YL Vi for sure! I am not counting Dawny cuz that was during the 5 year gap

Blok lost all his appendages 5YL I guess (too soon?)

The only bad guys I can think of are Ra's Al Ghul and maybe Tyr if we're stretching the definition lol

Well, I'll set a couple boundaries here - We'll keep it to the "prime" boot versions - so OG/5YL, Post ZH, Threeboot, Retro & Bendis, so Johns belongs in Retro as far as I'm concerned, but these CAN include flashbacks, etc. I want to make sure we don't do any odd Elseworlds variants.

I need to check on the Kal SA one - I don't remember.
Blok - maybe? Not sure there cause he kinda fully fell apart.

Oh wait, I just remembered Shady cutting her finger off after the Time Trapper hurt Mon-El too!

I am blanking on any other bad guys though

(PS I was pretty much joking about Superman, but I bet there really is a red kryptonite story for everything lol)

I wasn't too sure, but thought it was worth a punt. Likewise with Dawny, I wasn't sure it was on panel.


I had wondered the same about Olsen. Did he become Headless Turtle Boy at any point?

Blok lost 'em all. Had it not been Blok, it wouldn't have been allowed to be so graphic. I think he should be in.


Did Lar lose a limb at the end of v7?

Well, I wouldn't consider a head to be a limb. so - NO KONK!

Lar is indeed on that list! The Empress & Eye kinda fried him up there at the end!

The White Witch blew off the legs of a Khundish champion.

Also there's Tharok, who we've seen the origin of.

Do Tyr and his living gun hand count?

Ferro in the Reboot got dinged up pretty bad in Legion Worlds 5, but I think he actually kept all his limbs...

I'm gonna say no on Tyr, since I don't think we ever saw that operation.

And not Ferro - you're right, Ibby - he only stayed metal after that, but he did keep all his limbs. I was under the impression all the damage done to him was internal torso stuff.

GEAR would seem likely, as they can show horrid injuries to mechanical characters (see also Cyborg)

Tharok's good, I totally glossed over him cuz I'm so used to thinking of how he looked afterwards...and agree that you can put Jimmy up for these things on the same basis as Superman lol

Lana Lang lost limbs turning into insects.
Gained more than she started with at times, but still.

Don't think Gear ever actually lost a limb in the way that any of the above did. Similarly, I will not be counting Lana.

Did Superboy Prime shatter Sun Boy from the three boot after using superbreath on him?

Technically I think he did smush his head into itty bitty pieces

So head crushing doesn't count as its not a limb, and I'm not considering Lo3W. But Dirk's head was also crushed in N52, so someone out there hates him.

But by my reckoning, we're really close - I'm looking for one more on each list.

Sensor lost her robo-arms but then she gained some flesho-arms so I don't know if that counts?
