We don't learn much, as the appearance is basically the final page of the issue, but it's an interesting set-up.

I legitimately screamed when I saw this page. I almost fell down I was so overjoyed. I haven't felt that sense of joy at seeing a character I miss reappear after so long in YEARS.

Geoff Johns has totally ruined the character now! Actually l probably would've spelled it that way as well without looking it up. But am incredibly amused that A-Lad is now stuck looking like the Superman from Action #243 !

I love long-forgotten, minor characters getting a second lease on life!

It could be neat if that individual could use his powers to sort of 'buff' people by giving allies or civilians useful animal traits, temporarily. Like, we need to get everyone out of here, I'll give them wings! The boat is sinking, I'll give the crew fins and gills, so they can swim to shore. Polar bear fur for everyone stuck here in the arctic waiting for rescue! Stuff like that.

But am incredibly amused that A-Lad is now stuck looking like the Superman from Action #243 ! I generally hate anything Johns does, but I gotta admit I was also very tickled about that as well I like Set's idea re power application as well! It would give that character a pretty unique niche!

Honestly, the man is a pain, but you have to admire the sheer gall and pettiness in deliberately refusing to use Bendis's Legion after he was forced to include them in Doomsday Clock. The man knows he's leaving and that Bendis doesn't have a chokehold on editorial anymore, so he's not caring anymore. I have to support that.

I think that the conventional wisdom for awhile has been that , with Bendis gone, the Legion is basically Johns's to do what he wants with, and that what he would eventually want to do is bring back his version. The question was always how long it was going to take for him to get around to doing it, and now it's what happens now that he's leaving.

I just wish he'd done it Last year, so that way Devin Grayson and I could've used all the Legionnaires I wanted to use in DC Pride and we would've finally gotten that Ayla/Vi kiss
