Hint: this character did not eventually become a Legionnaire, nor was he ever seen again outside of the story showing him or her (or it) trying out at the same time as Colossal Boy and Chameleon Boy.

No, he and the two I mentioned were portrayed as already being members then. Oh yes. Good point CMK. I was getting mixed up with her second time when the other three were referred to as applicants whereas the first time Cham, Gim and Lyle were already members. Hmm. I guess this is from some later portrayal of the even then. Was this Kid Quantum James in a Glorithverse recap during the 5YL period?

Cmk has it - it was a Mr. Olsen who looked very much like Jimmy! Sadly, the clothes in the store didn’t really pay homage to Jimmy’s transformations!
