Was that really necessary?
Is Wonder Dog's 'proud' owner Ares?
This was kind of despicable, really.

Agreed. WTF man what was the point?
I think Wonder Dog's owner is a new villain.

Yeah. I've been enjoying this series until this issue. Two potential fun and great characters ruined for more of DC's patented gory, shock value, pointless deaths.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this issue was completely pointless.

Can you guys post some spoilers? I'd rather know ahead of time than be disgusted when reading a DC Comic--again.

Click Here For A SpoilerMarvin and Wendy consider leaving Titans Tower feeling that they are mere custodians and targets. They find a dog on the island. The dog is completely dry. (supposed to make you go "ut-oh" but he could have just been there a while) They take him in and name him Wonderdog. Miss Martian put a green cape on him.
Cyborg is upgrading the security. Robin & Wonder Girl talk. Miss Martian takes off for a private matter. Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Devil, & Blue Beetle have a training session. Marvin goes off with Wonder Dog. Wendy talks with Cyborg. Wendy goes looking for Marvin to tell him what Cyborg said. Wendy finds a dead Marvin with a mutated and giant Wonderdog. M&G Wonderdog chases Wendy. Wendy tries to get in touch with training Titans. They don't hear her because Cyborg nanobot is working on communication system just then. M&G Wonderdog catches up to Wendy. M&G Wonderdog leave tower, reverts to normal size & shape and goes to his master. Some weirdly armored dude. Per the next issue blurb: weirdly armored dude is named Lycus. The End

Click Here For A Spoiler Wonder Dog is actually some kind of transforming demon dog that butchers Marvin and then Wendy as she desperately tries to escape and get help while the Titans train in the subbasement Training Room. Miss Martian leaves just before that and Cyborg stops by to "fix" things, but he's the reason no alarm is sounded or the comlinks don't work.
Apparently, Wonder Dog belongs to the next big bad guy, Lycus. Seen on future covers fighting Wonder Girl and the team.
[EDIT: Oops! Sorry Quis beat me to it while I was typing...]

Wow. This sounds like yet another Titans story that makes me want to vomit.
Man I want to punch someone in the face at DC! (I kid, I kid...kinda...)

It's okay Nighty, Quis just cut & pasted from the Teen Titans Wiki page.

This was kind of despicable, really. Agreed. And this after thinking TT was on the upswing with the "Terror Titans" arc. I can only hope these scenes are misleading somehow, but it doesn't look it.

Add my vomit to the puke pile. Was it necessary for Wendy & Marvin to die? Why couldn't they survive the attack? It would've reinforced their "protective roles" if they could've actually warned the Titans of the canine terror.

To be fair, if Wonder Dog had just killed two strangers would we have gotten this upset?
Don't get me wrong. I love Marvin & Wendy and wished we had seen more of them. Their deaths do seem a little gratuitous. However let's see what the next issue brings.

'Also, there's giant monkey trying to pull a banana out of my butt, but I'm not sure if that's relevant to the story.'

oh god. you know i'm the overly sensitive one... but for some reason i thought this was hilarious. it was HORRIBLE and really violent but...
there was this horror movie once, i can't remember the name, but paris hilton was in it and the only reason i went to see it was to see her get killed...
wait i think it was that wax museum movie... anyways. it was terrible movie but i felt a sense of happiness seeing her horribly murdered. i think maybe this was a love letter to those of us that despise wendy and marvin. but i can totally see why people would take it more seriously and be grossed out by it.
as for the appropriateness of the gore to the title... is teen titans even remotely a teen book anymore? it definitely wasn't when i was reading geoff johns (raven coming back to life via horrible cult?). i've been reading teen titans only off and and on, i only got into it because i loved adorable beastboy from the cartoon. but and then comic-book beast boy was kind of lecherous jerk and i didn't really like his psychosis in general. i dropped it when they went into the future and met lame, jerk versions of themselves. "beastboy turns into that? ughhh do not want!!"
