The "Gaia" in James Lovelock's Gaia theory was the idea of William Golding, author of Lord of the Flies and Lovelock's neighbour. Lovelock somewhat regretted using it when he saw that it attracted a lot of hippies who latched onto the term without bothering to understand the theory.

Last night I dreamt I was watching these cartoons that told the stories of dead DC heroes in song, kind of a Schoolhouse Rock for dead heroes. The cartoon for Hector Hall was the best.

...Last night my friend Ellen had a dream that she slept with Santa Claus. She was highly disturbed by it, Then described it to me, In Minute detail, Over coffee at a cafe called "Red Tongue". Now I am just as disturbed.

Despite its status as the coldest city in the world with a population of over 600,000, Winnipeg, Manitoba was crowned the Slurpee Capital of the world for the eighth time in a row in 2007. In Manitoba, 7-Eleven stores across the province sell an average of 8,330 slurpee drinks per month. The rest of Canada sells an average of 5,990, which makes Manitobans the world leader of Slurpee Sales.

My dreams last night crossed over into Terminator 2, but now that I've been awake 4-5 hours, it's hard to recall how.

I am eating a Whole Grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon Poptart for lunch. Because it is "whole grain," that means it is good for me.

Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

well, I did eat two of them, as the packaging *requires*. Perhaps the double post is appropriate.

Have you ever heard Paula Poundstone talking about eating Poptarts (and then Pepperidge Farm Cookies)

I find the term "snogging" to be more naughty sounding than "shagging".

It would be really great if Pringle's made a 100 calorie pack in salt and vinegar.

Watching cartoons is like taking a really good musical appreciation course.

On a night in this Friday night, I'm re-watching Robert Rodriguez's half of Grindhouse, Planet Terror. All I've heard so far is the theme song on the main menu and its already reminding me how kick-ass it is laugh

This is a bit strange. I was just checking the weather for the next few days, went to click on the bookmark for Environment Canada weather for Liverpool, NS - and the little logo next to the bookmark name was the Legion World symbol!

I thought maybe Firefox takes some bookmark with an "L" logo and applies it to all your other bookmarks starting with L which don't have logos - but I'm sure Environment Canada has its own logo.

There's probably a rational explanation for this in terms of Firefox programming, but maybe Legion World is just taking over everywhere.
