I had dinner last night at Ken's Steak House in Framingham, Massachusetts, with my parents, my sister, my nephew and his girlfriend. I had baked haddock Newburg.

I was South Dakota last week and saw a cool looking comic book shop...but had to work almost 100% of the time I was there so I never got to go. But I get to go back next year so I'll try to remember to do it then.

Last night was my little brother's 21st birthday. My other brother (he's a year younger than me) and I went out and joined him and his friends. For some reason, I felt like *I* was 21 again and started to party that way.

Today I am reminded: I'm not. My recovery time at 28 is helluva a lot different than it was at 21 eek

The carol "The Holly and the Ivy" goes on at length about holly, but never really discusses ivy.

There are, as of today, three living verified World War I veterans. There are also three remaining Howard Johnson's restaurants.

This commercial inspired, at least in part, Rockhopper Lad's signature defense in LMB stories.

My workplace-du-jour charges fifty-seven bucks for a pair of spandex exercise shorts. No, I don't know who can afford this crap, either. But apparently, somebody can.

I'm at work right now.
Its 2:47 am.
Everything is operating smoothly, so I have nothing to do.
In essence, I am being paid to surf the internet tonight.

Well, not strictly a random posting. But for some strange reason, I've had the 1976 jazz comp "Long Yellow Road" in my head all day.

So here\'s a link, for anyone interested. Like most of Akiyoshi-Tabackin's work, it's both happy and sad at turns, so... Eh, you get my drift.

Carry on.

While cleaning out the garage Saurday, found my old '45 (that's one of those discs with a hole in the middle that us oldies listened to) of Starship's "Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Now." Back in the day, that was mine and my wife's song

Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is a guilty pleasure of mine -- as are the Mannequin movies.

I'm a huge Jefferson Airplane/Starship fan, though I can take or leave "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now." Perversely, that was the biggest hit of the band's then 22-year career, though no original Airplane members were left. (Grace Slick joined the Airplane in 1966, the year after it was formed.)

Running/walking 6 miles in 97 degree heat (it only felt like 96) can cause your vision to stop working while standing at a corner.

My favorite time of year is quickly approaching, but I don't want to rush the end of Summer--I can be patient.

I'll ditto Cobes - except for one financial aspect which I do want to see rushed, so I know what the heck I'll be doing and where I'll be living in Sept.
