While Mile High didn't have the issues in stock (and by the way, they do a good job these days FYI), I took your advice and got them online through Amazon.com. I went to 8 comic book stores in the last three weeks--I think that was more than enough before resorting to online laugh

Mycomicshop.com is a better place than Mile High IMO to get back issues and the like. They usually are better stocked, better priced and have nice special password sales every week to those who subscribe to their email list.

Did anyone else notice that yesterday was a palindromic date?

Once again, I plan to make some changes in my working out / eating habits to try to get healthier, slim down in 2010. Nothing overly dramatic, but time to clean my body out a little and lose a good 20 pounds.

One 'tip' / 'bit of advice' I've picked up is that I should take a little time every day and do a 5 minute meditation (or even just relax, do nothing and reflect on all the good things going on in my life) as a way to relieve stress, rather than grabbing a snack or letting all the built up anxieties consume me. Seems like a simple enough thing to do but yet I don't already do it--so maybe this will help.

I actually think one of the people I went through Amazon with was mycomicsshop.com but I'm not sure. I definitely saw them somewhere. Thanks for the tip though, I'll use them the next time I want some single issues (which hey, could be soon once I read that first issue of Chew tonight or tomorrow laugh ).

Yeah, they probably do. In my experience, though, it's easier to find what you're looking for on the mycomicshop website and at better prices. The Mile High site is in desperate need of an overhaul in my opinion. When I shop Mile High, I much prefer their eBay store over their actual website.

I'm not a big fan of their online site, or even their main store. Most of my back issue success has been at my local satellite or my old cbs back in the Twin Cities - The Source.

Just spouting off.

Something else else (kinda) Random: Comic Book Review Month came about in my head when I learned Lardy was reading "Vikings" but had not reviewed it on Legion World. Rather than ask him to do so, I figured I'd do something more grandiose laugh

Actually, I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I'm reading Viking somewhere on Gym'll's. You probably either missed it or forgot about it as you are apt to do... nod

Bah. I suspect that thread exists somewhere obscure like the Science Police Forum or Titans Forum. laugh

Another example is I know some posters like Vee and Portfolio Boy collect different independent titles and want to hear more about them.

PS - you've now been roped into being Vice President of Marketing for this event!

IIRC, it's in the CHEW thread. Viking 1 was reprinted the issue after Chew in TWD.

Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

Do my stories really have the potential to be turned into actual comics?

Random thought that isn't turning into a short story;

**************************************

He awoke to hear the words, “Legionnaire Wolf, welcome to the Khund Challenge Courts.”

Brin groggily took in his surroundings, his enhanced physiology shaking off the effects of the energy field that had held him in stasis. Stalling for time while his head cleared, he addressed the towering cyborg before him, “I thought only Khund were allowed to compete in the Challenge Courts?”

“That is the case. But a warrior may demonstrate his skills upon dangerous or exotic alien prey, to increase his reputation with the crowd.” The cyborg explained in a booming mechanical voice that somehow still conveyed a trace of arrogance and excitement. “You are not here to compete, Legion Wolf. You were brought here to enhance my status in the eyes of my people. You are here to die at my hand...”

SL is 19, I think, so he has a couple of years to go.

When I was 15, I remember pushing my dad and running away across the fields, never looking behind and crying & yelling all the way.
I was still walking through the knee high snow a couple miles later, when I looked around, and there he was a few feet behind me.
He made sure I got back safely.

(I thought about the incident after I wrote here, and I'm pretty sure I was a couple years younger than I origanlly wrote down. 15 is a kind of guess but is correct, give or take a year or so. Sorry)
