This post I just made reminded me of Jim Dale's excellent narration of the sorely missed TV series Pushing Daisies. frown

The word "lethologica" describes the state of not being able to remember the word you want.

I hate it when I'm writing and I'm suffering from, uh, whatever that word is that means not being able to remember the word I want to use.

Marge Redmond, the actress who played Sarah Tucker of Tucker Inn in the Cool Whip commercials of the 1970s and '80s, played Sister Jacqueline on The Flying Nun.

Lately I've been enjoying the inane post-hooker threads. I have a love/hate with them. Currently, its love.

"Hey everyone, let's all go to Magic Gumdrop Land!"

"Yaaaaay!"

"Oh but we don't have any money."

"Aaaaaawwww."

"That's okay! We can hitch a ride there with this creepy Mexican man!"

"Uh..."

"Hey ese, you want to feel the hair on the back of my neck?"

I prefer the term "icing" to "frosting".

I barely understand hockey at all. The term "icing" as it's used there being among the many wtf aspects.

I'm more scared to ask Cobie to explain "post-hooker" than I am scared to discuss hockey.

But only a little. shake

I'd guess he's referring to the 'easiness' of posting on most of the MMB threads, comparing to the 'easiness' of a prostitute. While the latter requires the compromising of ones funds (and morals), the former requires the compromising of one's dignity in the pursuit of higher post counts!

laugh

I also understand little about hockey. "Icing" for me is the stuff made with butter and sugar that is spread on a cake.

I took a course back when I was an undergrad English major in the late '80s called Modern American Drama. The whole semester was devoted to two playwrights: Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams. Apparently, nothing written after 1960 mattered to this professor.

^No clue.

I like to use the term "post-hooker" because "post-whore" is offensive to one of the posters I'm friends with and its funnier. But yeah, Lardy has the basic idea. Padding your post-count with inane threads is the equivalent of selling yourself on the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway in 1973 for two hours of something that smells really awful. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you laugh

I don't think of myself as a post-whore or post-hooker. I'm more of a post-courtesan.

Dude, why are you worried about the sketch pad? Most artists are just happy for the paying gig and will draw in/on most anything, so long as it's not that construction paper that disintegrates when an eraser touches it.

I haven't been to a con in ages, but I remember that much.

Yeah, but then I have to SCAN them on the computer, and the binding can really screw with that. I didn't take that into consideration earlier...
