Szechuan shrimp and vegetables at The Hungry Chili, in Halifax. Delicious and inexpensive.

Stuffed Animals Preclude Bad Manners,

Do you personally (not your kids or dogs) have any stuffed toys, and, if so, what?

Well I don't have any kids or dogs. I do have a stuffed Rocky the Flying Squirrel a nephew gave me for Christmas one year. I also have an anatomically exaggerated koala bear.

SAPBM,

Do you have or had a favorite board game, and if so what?

Yoga, or bike-riding to/from the park. Sadly, I haven't gotten to do either much lately.

Are you more of a social animal now than you used to be, or less of one?

More social in the sense that people seem to find me more personable than I was in my teens and twenties. But I still don't like being out in public, I prefer the relative safety of home.

SAPBM,
If you could travel back in time to give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Be yourself and all your relationships will be better for it. I'd give this advice to myself in Middle School, as it was something I never really realized until the end of High School / college and sometimes still lost my way at times in my early 20's.

SAPBM,

same

I'd say, "watch out for meddling time travelers!"

seriously, I'd tell the 20-something me to go back to school earlier than I did, and not to fret about student loans.

SAPBM,

what's your single biggest regret?

Can't think of any single regret that can be called my biggest. Lots of little regrets for not taking advantage of opportunities.

SAPBM,

What do you think is the biggest annoyance of modern life?

No, I'm not a partier. But when I'm writing, I frequently get up and act out the stories, putting on one-woman shows for an audience consisting of my toy animals.

Yes (although I didn't). Why not? Marriage is just a contract.

Have you ever seen a tornado (live, not on TV)?

Not a tornado, but I have seen some dust spinning around like a tornado. It was very small. No bigger than myself, if that.

SAPBM,

What is the most awesome thing you have seen?

hard to choose.
the 1st thing that comes to mind was a rainbow I saw while flying over Maine - I saw both ends of the rainbow ascending into a small cloud - and the reflection of the entire rainbow in the lake underneath it. it was an incredible sight!

I wouldn't even know how to define "awesome." Right now, I'm just glad to still have a roof over my head that doesn't belong to my Mom.

According to Mapquest, 3.9 miles. I was born in a hospital in Boston and now live in Boston. If you go by where I grew up, then it is 30.06 miles.

SAPBM,

What is your current favorite TV show?

There really are no new shows I've been able to get into. Just as well. A few years back it seemed like every show I ever liked would just get canceled after one or two seasons. The guilt I felt over likely causing their untimely demises was too much.

Some answer. Please backpedal mightily.

Since that really isn't much of an answer: same question.

I don't watch television at home anymore. I recently watched Doctor Who at a friend's house, and it was pretty good, so that.

SAPBM,

Same question.
