Jase, if you can use Win RAR you can still download the files and just view the JPEG's. You won't be able to read it like a comic like CDisplay allows you to but you could still access the images.

Way for Gary to bring one of my ideas that I let fall by the wayside and slap me in the face with it. smile

Okay, if people are serious about this who wants to start?

I would but I'm not quite sure what's being proposed?

You have the issues on-line?

We download and read (or read our originals?)

then the book master starts a thread for discussion?

Is that basically the thing?

1) Could we have a separate forum for it so we're not looking for the threads?

2) well, I was going to ask for a poll to see who had what years/issues available but if you have them on-line, I guess it's not an issue. Still, somehow need to have someone select the books.

3) Don't most "book clubs" have tea and illicit affairs, cuz that might make things more interesting too.

The issues are not currently on-line but I do have them all. Each week (or whatever time frame is decided) I'll upload the issue for everyone who wants to participate to download.

How or what order you want to read them in is up to the masses. Like I said, I'm just the librarian.

As for a separate forum, you'll have to take that up with Big Daddy (Gary). Right now I think we have a nicely balanced number and adding another might not be the best solution. On top of that backing this place up is already kind of a nightmare.

Anyway, maybe we need another poll to get an idea on what the populace feels like now. This was, after all, over three years ago.

Instead of another forum, we could use the "Announcements" feature which would link to the issue thread being discussed right here.

Nah, we did need a poll for that. wink

If you guys decided to run with this let me know. But I will lay out a ground rule right now. If you want to participate you'll need to have PM's turned on or accept e-mails from admins. I will not be posting a public link for any copies of the books to be reviewed. The link will only be PM'd or emailed to registered members, no guests or lurkers allowed.

The link will also only be active for a set duration during the review period. Once a book has been reviewed it will be removed and replaced with the next book. This puts quite a bit of work on me to keep up with so that's why I'm only offering to be the librarian.

I'm sure there'll be more rules but I just wanted some basics established first.

Sounds good, and fair, to me.
