And that's how it all started! How we all became friends and founded the LMB! Our four year anniversary is almost upon us! Four years! Wow! A lot of friends have joined us over the years (and sadly, a lot aren't around anymore), and the LMB has remained as strong as ever!

With Legion World as the newest home, and with such a massive amount of posters here, the LMB (and that's ALL of you out there wink ), are in our true glory years!

One more week to go, but here's a preview:

Happy Anniversery LMB!

In merely two hours, it becomes the official anniversery of the exact time the LMB was created!

So, here's to all the friends I've met along the way! To all the ones gone over the years, and to all the ones here right now!

Sweet Ass Sweet!

4 years since I posted that on the old LEGIONNAIRES board.

Man.

I was so young then! *choke!* Full of hopes, dreams and fears. So very, very innocent!

That was indeed Eastern Standard Time, by the way. The server for the DCMBs was, then, in New York City.

Now they, and we, are based in L.A., as it should be {g}

And of those charter members...

LARDLAD has sorta been on the outskirts until recently, but somehow I feel like he's always kept a watchful eye on us.

COBALT KID has made a triumphant return and looks like he's here for the long haul. (he BETTER be, anyway!)

TSARIN is now known as MYSTERY LAD and is stll around from time to time.

Someone believed to be SHADOWPLAY IN CANDLELIGHT has registered here but never posted. If it is indeed Shady, I hope she sees this and says "HI!"

ENGINE JOE, who kept the Legionnaires board alive by himself until we made it our home!

And me? Well, I haven't been around much these last 4 years but I'll try to be more of a presence in the NEXT 4. wink

Lash, I think that both you and Cru are the heart and soul of the LMB. You've been a mainstay, and I know I can count on you being around when I'm with the group! I can't see the LMB without you guys! It's been my pleasure to have known you for so long!

And Lardy has always been the LMB's 'Big Gun' IMO. Shady is too important to the LMB to put into words, she's missed! And I was overjoyed to learn that Tsarin was posting again, as Mystery Lad!

And I'll definately be around for the long haul wink !

The first new recruits to join: Lev Lad, Goon Boy and Seahorse! Sadly, none are around much anymore, although Seahorse remained a major LMBer for a long time!

After that: Newcru and Greybird, still posting to this day! And then Rhino and Beagz, who are both still around! And then Loser Lad, who shows up now and again, although I wish he were still around more!

As (one of) the newest in a long line of Leaders of the LMBP, I feel priviledged to "preside" over this most august occasion.

On behalf of my esteemed Co-Leader, Quislet, Esq. and our Deputy Leader, Stoopid Cat, as well as all the seninents of Legion World and the LMBP, I'd like to recognize, honor, and most importantly, thank some very special people:

Lardlad
Cobalt Kid
Tsarin Kid
Shadowplay in Candlelight Lass
Lash Lad
Engine JoeBoy

Without each of you...your love of the Legion...and your friendly, welcoming manner, none of the rest of us would have any reason to be here today. Nor do I suspect, would we have this wonderful playground called Legion World in which to cavort, caper, flirt, argue, and share.

Thanks to each of you for the part you played in creating the LMBP and in bringing us all together.

Of course, we shouldn't let this occasion pass without also thanking Gary & Scott for providing all of us with this wonderful corner of the universe for us to romp in! We love you guys!

This special occasion truely deserves flowery speeches and solemn remembrances, but this is the LMBP! I'm certain that if I tried something like that I would get pelted with eggs, or pluberries, or forced to babysit Koko! Worse yet, Lardy, Lasher & Cobie would probably be leading the charge to remove me from the stage. So let me finish by saying, in honor of all those whose names have filled the illustrious rolls of the LMBP over the years...

SWEET ASS SWEET!!!

It's so bizarre to think that we've lasted so long. As Newcru King, I was one of the first inductees. It seems so long ago. It's nice to see that so many of the old timers have kept up a presence over the years smile

I'm still hoping that Lashie Poo will come out of his shell a little and try to post more often wink

LLLMB!

I'm proud as punch to have played some small role in founding this wonderful group. I NEVER thought we'd still be around 7 years later! But the LMB has staying power, friends, especially since we're constantly evolving and welcoming new blood to keep things lively. And let's not forget how important Legion World is to ouR continued existence. Homeless, we'd probably have drifted apart. But here we are, stronger than ever!

SWEET ASS SWEET!!!!!

Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Incidentally, nobody tell Cobie, but the traditionally 7th anniversary gift is wool.

I should probably stop curling my hair. I caught Cobie holding some of it up to his arm while I was sleeping, almost like he was measuring for a sweater...

The modern gift is a desk set. Hopefully that would include a dictionary.

Notice the fact that I massively botched up the grammar on this sentence?

At least we have an excuse to wear super-hero Underoos, then.

If we are 7 years old does that mean we get to stay up later and dont have to go to bed until, like, 7.00 pm?

Happy Anniversary, LMB!

For me, it's been just over seven years, as I started posting to the DC Message Board (from whence Legion World sprang, for you newbies) in January 2001.

Eight years! Just think: the LMB has lasted longer than many marriages these days.

Congrats LMB smile laugh

Who would have thought it? Here I am, on the cusp of getting married and now with an actual bonafide career, and when I first helped co-found this group, I was an 18 year old kid! Luckily, my maturity level is just about the same (possily worse).

That Dream Girl barette and LMB walking ring are still in the mail too, I think...

Congrats flag

Thank you all for keeping this wonderful group going for as long as it has. Although I've only been a part of it for less than three of its eight years, I can't imagine the LMB and Legion World not being here.

cheers

Long live Legion World!

This is the only forum where I feel completely comfortable in expressing myself. Thank you, lovely people, for putting up with my moodiness, my rambles, my outbursts, my attacks on people in the entertainment industry who I don't like even though I've never met them...

Seriously, thank you all. hug love

This marks the beginning of the 9th year that Lash, Lardy and I have been discussing Laurel Gand's thong in TMK!

Yay, it's that time of year again.

Double yay, Teeds chose a Baxter cover by Greg LaRocque.

Triple yay, it's got Ayla on it.

He almost single-handedly kept the Legionnaires forum alive until just before what would become known as the LMB adopted it as their home. Basically, he gave up just before all the fun began, but we respected him for what he had done.

Quite some time later, he finally posted as, I think, Son of the Eagle and kind of voiced his approval of what we had done with the place. I don't think he ever posted with us again after that.

Still "Lardy" to my friends!
