I haven't had the chance to sit down and read this one yet, but in case there are any Steve Lightle fans who don't normally buy this book, Steve Lightle has done an excellent job in this issue.

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on this one Gary. If I hadn't known Steve was doing this issue and his name hadn't been on the cover I never would have picked it up. I didn't see an inker listed but something made it appear non-Lightle to me. There was nothing familiar, or to me, enjoyable about the artwork. In my cursory flip through most of the men looked like prize fighters who had been on the losing end of a title bout.

My opinion may change once I sit down and read the whole thing but I can't help but feel disappointed. This was the first Flash I had picked up since the Zoom story IIRC and it was because of Steve's involvement.

The story itself seemed just a fill-in story. It was OK, but nothing to write home about.

I agree with you Scott, that if there wasn't the credit, I would not have recognized this as Steve's work.

The story itself was poop. I wish Stuart Immonen would stick with drawing pictures. smile It reminded me of the Inferno mini series, which was also dreck.

As for Steve's artwork, I think he was trying something different. When he was doing covers to the book and Kolins was on the interiors, I did not like his Flash, because as great an artist as Steve is, I didn't believe his covers reflected "motion", which is essential to the character of the Flash. I wasn't in love with the art (partially because the story itself was a fill-in waste of time I'm sure), but I thought he was doing a better job of conveying motion. It also didn't help that most of the issue was a half dozen people in hats and parkas, in a snowstorm, so it's hard to tell who is who...

See, this is where we disagree. I wish he would neither write nor draw. His work on Ultimate X-Men has been nothing short of heinous.

As for Flash... eh. Definitely a fill-in issue and... yeah. Not that great.
