I believe that I'm member number 42. Which makes me exactly 5.25 times better than Pov. Just kiddin. How could anybody be better than Pov? And with an Avatar like that... Seriously though, Don't know why they're gone, didn't really notice either.

You're just now noticing? Actually, while I was resurrecting some of my saved DCMB threads, I noticed that no one had a member number back then. Even when I tried to see the link to the profile, I couldn't find a member number. Then I realized how cool that was not to automatically know who was new or old. Who was a veteran and who was the virgin? So I looked for the feature here and voila! No more member numbers. Now we're all equal!  And BTW, post counts don't count. Look at Beagz.

Put your cursor over the name above your avatar. It's a link to your profile, and that gives your member number ("u=") at the end. In your case, 35.
And remember, we can have up to 99,999,999 members, so remember the chant:

Anyway, I think if you really want to disguise the veterans from the virgins, eliminating post counts is necessary. It may be the case that there are people who registered in July that have less than 100 posts, but clearly if a poster has 3000 posts, they didn't just start posting last week.

And I certainly think of him as more of a veteran, more as part of the group, than most of the people who've been registered since July but have barely been around. Post counts measure participation on the board, and are thus a more accurate measure of one's veteran status.

And that is a good addition, EDE! I've only been here since September and am now the fifth highest in my post count! Which is why I of course want the post counts to remain the same! Don't change 'em, they're fun! And all the virgins become veterans after awhile
