Why have the Titans suddenly taken over the Message Board?

Last month the Legion, as we've known it for the past few years, is gone. This month DC is using the successful Teen Titans series to relaunch our Legion for the years to come.

To celebrate, we're crossing over with the Titans as well. We'll be adding avatars and graemlins to express ourselves and everyone is encouraged to change their Public Displayed Name to a Titan or a Titan/Legion combination (like me, don't worry if you can't change back, I'll help with that when the time comes).

For those of you who enjoy (or enjoyed) the Titans, feel free to talk about the Titans as if they were as good as the Legion. I can imagine seeing such topics as -

"Beast BoyS"
"Is Gear a ripoff of Cyborg?"
"Was Azrael from Starhaven?"
"Why are there no Tamarans in the 30th/31st Centuries?"
"Pantha/Catspaw, seperated at birth?"
"Fearsome Five vs. Fatal Five"
"Speedy or Biron, who's the better Bowman?"
"Token Members? Hornblower & Tyroc"

Or better ones even.

For those of you not into the Titans of any era, these changes are temporary, so just ignore them and go about your normal posting habits. After the Special reveals some hints of the new Legion of Super-Heroes series, we'll get things back to "normal" around here.

I have enough trouble keeping up with you guys as it is. Now I gotta figure out your Titan IDs. I haven't even figured out any of the original Alt IDs.

The Titan's are really just the rebooted version of Young Justice anyway. Bring back the good ole days, with Red Tornado and Snapper Carr. Where's Peter David when you need him? Give me APES and Fite and Maad over Graduation Day anytime.

I realise that it's hardly in keeping with the general tone, but sod this for a game of soldiers.

I haven't the foggiest who anyone is these days as it is, what with everyone changing their names and having [N]umpteen Alt IDs. And now everyones changing to characters that I haven't read about in 25 years.

I am confused too but this is all in fun. And if everyone picks one that is close to what they were before, it just takes a little time to figure it all out.

I am having fun doing this and now make a suggestion to the Founders. How about you guys pick one month of the year and give us another crossover. Maybe when Star Wars III comes out we can talk about Legion vs Star Wars. Everyone can go crazy again. Its fun to see everyone's creativity.

Otherwise, it was a pleasant surprise this morning when I logged on.

If any Publicly Displayed Name is confusing, click on it in the left-hand column to get the user profile. That will give more clues and personal data. (If you're an advisor, it'll also give you that person's permanent Login Name.)

We've gone nutzoid with alternate IDs already, so this isn't going to add much for the next few weeks to the existing madness.

Just be polite to everyone you meet ... ye gads, what a concept ... especially if you don't know who they are.

This day has been a total blast so far! It's great to see so many people have joined in on the madness all day long--whether posting in threads or changing their avatars and user names.

I'm quite surprised how much fun I and everyone else seem to be having! Usually I'm against big insane change, but this is a blast.

This definitely spiced my Friday up. Kudos to Nighty for initiating this. I kind of like Vu's idea of going crazy like this once a year...but I guess we'll see who the Legion is crossing-over with in 2005.

This board needs a good kick in the pants ever so often and, per usual, Gary offered a big plate 'o fun with a side of panache!

Looks like the new changes are a big hit ... hopefully, it's not just a "day after X-mas" kinda thing - there's still a month to go before the Crossover (I am getting a bit lost with some of the Titans talk though since I'm not a fan -- looks like I might have some reading to do this weekend).

Thanks! rtvu2! I think I'll wait to see how this one does first. I'm only doing this because for this month at least, all of us Legion Fanatics have to read the Teen Titans. In that context, it makes sense.

And minesurfer and SoM, remember that the changes are superficial at best and ignore it if you have to.

Boy, what a releif!! When I logged on and saw the Titan changes my heart sank. Don't get me wrong, I love the Titans but my true love is the Legion. The great thing about Legion World is that it is for and about the Legion. I was worried the Titans would take over. Now that I've read this, I am releived to see it is only temporary. I've read several of the topics and have to admit that this is going to be fun, but only if it is temporary. When this is all over, will the Titan subjects disapear? I relly hope so, but for now it's OK during the Legion's hiatus. So, in the spirit of the Titans and the theme of this thread, call me JECKPEST

I had some reservations about this temporary change, too. But it was a fun challenge to come up with a Titans equivalent for He Who Wanders.

I consider him a founder from the reboot (ie Wolfman/Perez era). Never did read the Titans prior to their relaunch in the 80s.

Well, I'm not going to delete any posts made during this time. But sometime after the Special, I will revert the Forums, Categories, and graphics to Legion-Only again. I may remove a few of the non-used Avatars as well, just to save time and space in the Avatar Menu/Folder. (So if there's one anyone wants me to save, let me know.)

Could you save this toon Gar one? I like it as much as the Babbage avatar.

Geez, I got to New York for a coupla days and suddenly LW is Titanized! I'm afraid to travel now - next time I leave, the My Little Legion of Ponys Messageboard might await me upon return!

I wasn't sure about this when I first saw Titanic Legion World, but I can roll with it. Besides, I finally figured out a crossover name for myself. Should've hit me sooner.

Anyone wanting to revert to their pre-Titans name, but cannot, please post here. I'll fix it when I come online.

I do like my Slade avatar Gary. So if you don't mind keeping him around for when I'm in an evil mood, I'd appreciate it.

I doubt I'll get any more use out of my drooling Beast Boy avatar, so you can delete that one if you'd like.

I'm done with the Raven stuff, I have the avatar I want, now.
