In honor of Legion World's 1st anniversary, we present an all-new version of the ever exciting super-hero rumble: the Battle for the Championship of the 31st Century!!

As in games past, the awsome might of the Planetary Chance Machine (i.e. names drawn from a hat) will pit various heroes (and anti-heroes) of the 31st century against one another in order to determine, once and for all, who among them is truly the mightiest hero of them all!

As in prior tournaments, 200 heroes from various realities will take part in this exciting contest. Unless otherwise stipulated, you may assume that the hero in question is the most recent version of the character.

However, in a twist from last year's game, the heroes will not be ceded into separate leagues. This year, each round will bring a completely new random draw.

As before, whenever an elimination round results in an odd number of contestants, the PCM will be used to advance one of the losing contestants.

Also, in another change, battles will not be held soley in the planetary championship arena of Xanthu. This year, the Miricle Machine will be used to transport our heroes to any one of 100 exotic locations.

Your job, should you chose to accept it, is to act as judge and declare a winner in each battle.

Each week, all judges' votes will be tabulated with those heroes recieving the least number of votes being eliminated from the competition.

Each round of judging will last one full week. The overall winner will be declared eight weeks from now.

My votes go to the ones in bold, so here we go:

1) STAR BOY makes Membrane so heavy that s/he ends up flattened on the ground.

2) Evolvo decides to devolve into an ape-man to take care of HATE-FACE, but ends up clobbering himself.

3) In his carelessness, Superboy ends up wrecking most of the animal's cages. While he's distracted, POLAR BOY puts him on ice before turning his attention to the animal stampede.

4) VIOLET lures M'Onel, who is extremely horny after his long exile in the Phantom Zone, into the nearest hotel where he quickly becomes distracted by all that Ventura has to offer.

5) QUISLET animates some machinery and takes Ze Tongue out with ease.

6) Super-Phrenology Lad lunges for LIGHT LASS' head, but she quickly turns off the gravity and sends him floating off into the Titanet Spire.

7) Sneaky KONO stays phased throughout the battle, and the M'Onelves end up crashing into one another.

8) KID PSYCHO diverts Comet Queen's attention to the wide variety of ice cream. and while she's gushing over the flavors he whacks her on the back of the head.

9) Tusker gets so nervous upon hearing that Mordru is close by that he never even has a chance to fend off SUN BOY's attack.

10) LIFE LASS takes advantage of the large amount of machinery on Lisnar to distract, cocoon and take Streaky out.

11) SATURN GIRL flies high up into the air and puts Quake Kid to sleep.

12) Tenzil chews through Elvo's sword and tricks him into thinking Xenn is about to explode again. Elvo runs for his life, leaving MATTER-EATER LAD the winner.

13) Krypto gains the upper hand at first, but GEAR uses his wiles to trick him into chasing the raccoon servants and forfeiting the match.

14) Tyroc's yells, drive him back at first, but MAGNETIC KID uses his powers to spook the lightning beasts into stampeding straight into Tyroc.

15) Both combatants are locked in battle when suddenly the villainous tree-men show up. Stone Boy is too slow and heavy to escape, so FLOATING FOXLIKE-CREATURE BOY wins the match.

16) QUANTUM QUEEN blasts Absorbancy Boy into Thora's dungeon before he has a chance to react.

17) CALORIE QUEEN immediately gulps down a handful of rayguns and proceeds to make short work of Night Girl.

18) CALAMITY KING, dazed by Color Kid's aurora attack, backs into a huge underwater mountain and sends it crashing down... onto Color Kid.

19) Elastic Lad chases after Brainy, but suddenly finds himself caught in one of Zerox's rapidly changing landscapes while BRAINIAC 5, who thoroughly researched the battlefield beforehand, flies up to safety.

20) Inspired by Gates' political views, the Imskians rise up and pile on Princess Projectra, leaving GATES as the winner.

21) BLOCKADE BOY almost gets beaten down by Streaky, but the super-kitty spots a ball of yarn and promptly forgets about the battle.

22) Crafty CELESTE ROCKFISH spreads the word that one of the Legion "demons" has arrived, and poor Marla Latham can do nothing to stop the angry mob that chases after him.

23) Flederweb flies up into the air, but TRIAD follows with her flight ring and makes quick work of him with her tri-jitsu.

24) Brainstorm blasts Animal Lad with lightning, but ANIMAL LAD turns the crowd into a bunck of earthquake beasts and turns them on Brainstorm.

25) Silver Sowrd attacks FORTRESS LAD, but isn't quite prepared for what the clubhouse defenses are really capable of.

26)Porcupine Pete's uncontrollable quills incite a prison riot, and in the confusion BLAST-OFF rams him into submission.

27) Beppo starts playing with the ancient Atlantean artifacts and ANTI-LAD nullifies his powers before he can focus again

28) PLAID LAD gets the Halpashar monks to meditate with him and the resulting chants calm Command Kid down.

29) Firefist's destructive tactics turn the Swizzar natives against him, and BOUNCING BOY takes advantage of this to take him out.

30) Lamprey dives into a pool to make the most of her abilities, but gets stuck when CRYSTAL KID covers the surface with crystal.

31) CHERRY BOMB blasts open the wall, and Ornitho quickly gets sucked out int space.

32) Abyss tries to void her, but RAINBOW GIRL blinds him with light and finishes him off with her charms.

33) Due to his lack of imagination, Duplicate Boy decides to copy Brainy's powers. But doing so only makes the robots think he's another Brainiac, and they don't really need the urging of their fellow silicon being BLOK to pound old Ord into the ground.

34) Chameleon Kid tries to surprise Jaz by copying a crystal memorial, but ends up frozen when KID QUANTUM II freezes the area.

35) ELEMENT LAD takes the Weirdo Legionnaire out with ease.

36) Disoriented by the shifting world of Bgztl, Leeta 87 fails to notice COMPUTO commanding the machines to attack her.

37) XS takes Karate Kid II out before he can even react.

38) Nervosa tries to eat through SHADOW KID's darkfield, but finds that darkness really isn't edible.

39) Yera fools Val at first, but KARATE KID senses that it's really her and takes her down quickly and painlessly.

40) VEILMIST lures Typhoon into the deepest, darkest areas of the cave where his powers trigger a cave-in while she teleports to safety.

41) Kid Quantum manages to freeze KONK!'s body, but in his cockiness forgets about her head, and ends up being headbutted into the wall.

42) Pete and Kent debate about who has closer ties to Superman, but Pete gets so frustrated that KENT SHAKESPEARE gets the upper hand and knocks him out.

43) The current Ultra Boy gets SO thrown off by seeing the Bismollians eat weird stuff that WILDFIRE manages to blast him without breaking a sweat.

44) Psyche tries to "eat" MONSTRESS' emotions, but all the sweetness makes her too faint to move.

45) LIGHTNING LAD blasts Radion into the mailbox and a one-way ticket to Loserville.

46) SENSOR tricks Jungle King into trying to control her, and when he believes her illusions she whips him like a baby.

47) The WHITE WITCH casts a spell to make sure all energy devices and powers fail and wallops Dynamo Boy once he's powerless/

48) LESTER SPIFFANY bribes the doctors into sedating Comet.

49) SPIDER GIRL gets the Venusians infatuated with her, and when they see Chemical King at work they remember their hatred of transmutation and mob him into the ground.

50) Singularity gets so annoyed by the Athramites that keep bugging him that he pops a blood vessel and gives STORM BOY the win.

51) PROTY mimics a Starhavenite and leads Celebrand straight into a meteor shower.

52) The cold atmosphere of the moon makes all the dirt solidify around the Mess, immobilizing him and letting INVISIBLE KID II win the match.

53) IMPLICATE GIRL scares Size Lad so much with stories of future catastrophes that he quits and rns home to mommy.

54) Jamm drools so much over CATSPAW that she loses it and claws him a new piehole.

55) SHIKARI sees every move that Insect Queen is going to take and outmaneuvers her easily.

56) CHLOROPHYLL KID traps BloodClaw beneath a Venturan walking bush.

57) DEVLIN O'RYAN reflects everything that Visi-Lad throws at him, and he sets Koko on fire, too.

58) APPARITION stays intangible and lures Dev-em right into a red sun ray, then quickly takes him out once he's helpless.

59) Dragonmage is so jealous that he didn't get into the Legion that MENTALLA takes over his mind easily.

60) Splitter demonstrates his puppeteering skills, but LAUREL KENT isn't impressed and pounds him into the ground.

61) Cosmicbot is so much in awe of Dryad's natural beauty that he doesn't see QUESTAR's attack until it's too late.

62) Kid Heavyfeathers can't throw his feathers far enough and COSMIC BOY clobbers him before he can do anything.

63) INFERNO burns the floor out from under Weight Wizard's feet and gloats while he falls through the floor.

64) INSECT QUEEN sees right through False Pretenses Lad and finishes him off without breaking a sweat.

65) ION shrinks down and bypasses Reflecto's powers with an internal attack.

66) PARTICON deflects Thunder's thunderbolt before it can reach her and quickly knocks her out before she can say her word again.

67) RONN-KAR flattens himself before Brawler can hit him and chuckles to himself while Brawler tires himself out.

68) TWINE takes Power Boy out before he can reach her.

69) Echo tries to disorient Drura but can't because she hits him with a dose of the stomach flu. INFECTIOUS LASS wins.

70) Cannus chases after the ants while CERA KESH levitates him straight into an anthill.

71) NARA MINSORK fills Lume's thoughts with the darkness of space and gets him to shut down with fear.

72) Lori Morning tries her best to annoy RJ Brande, but he's so nice that she tires herself out.

73) Both their powers combined with the volatile remnants of Krypton to trigger an explosion in space, but GAS GIRL manages to escape while Atmos gets taken out.

74) WESTERNER just destroys everything around until he takes out Green Boy.

75) TIMBER WOLF thinks much faster than Dartalg and so manages to defeat the Wanderer.

76) DREAMER foresees and counters every form that Beast Boy takes, and when he's exhausted she knocks him out with a chop to the back of the head.

77) ESPER LASS shuts down Don Allen's mind faster than the speed of light.

78) While DoubleHeader bickers over who gets to take KINETIX out on a date first, she quickly silences him with a few tree branches around the mouths and makes quick work of him soon after.

79) INVISIBLE KID tricks Ebb into losing his water jacket and drying up in the wastelands of Mars.

80) Nemesis Kid shifts from power to power while trying to counteract the various magical forces at work on Aleph, and NIGHTWIND takes davantage of it to blow him away.

81) LEVIATHAN picks Amp Girl up and. since she can't get loose, wins the match.

82) Polecat is so in awe of Superboy that he turns on the stench at full power. Due to his hyper-senses, Kal-el faints and [b}POLECAT[/b] manages to win.

83) The street-smart SHVAUGHN ERIN takes out the naive Golden Boy quite easily.

84) BABBAGE quickly pounds KOko into submission to the wild applause of the audience.

85) Unused to the dry land, TELLUS almost loses it at forst but quickly turns the tables on the overconfident Repulse.

86) Atom'x blasts all the asteroids in sight, but can't do anything when MAGNO sends them all crashing into him.

87) UMBRA doesn't waste a minute as she sends Dragonfly packing.

88) DRIANNA ALLON blasts Tomb before he can touch her.

89) SUPERGIRL makes use of the anitgravity on Nullport to send Sharn Nux floating into the depths of space.

90) Eyeful Ethel gets one eyeful too much of the ruins of Qward, and ANDROMEDA mercifully puts her to sleep.

91) DAWN ALLEN creates a whirlwind so strong that poor Brika falls into the nearest firepit.

92) PLANT LAD makes great use of the environment by ambushing Ferro when he stops to smell the roses.
