We're hitting too many roadbumps here. maybe we should close each oe with three options, letting the next participant to choose which one?
We're hitting too many shows that eiher people don't know, or otherwise aren't interested in casting.

I'll repeat my prior suggestion to offer three alternatives; that way this thread isn't stalled by people not knowing a particular cast (like me and the Buffy show)

Law & Order
(I'm going to use character types instead of character names.)
The Older Cop -- Rokk Krinn, 5YL version The Younger Cop -- Jacques Foccart: Jesse L. Martin with a white streak in the hair! The Lieutenant -- Jazmin Cullen, reboot leader version (It would make an interesting dyamic if she were Rokk's ex.)
The Assistant D.A. -- Brainiac 5, who ably prosecuted Star Boy. The D.A.'s Assistant -- Ayla Ranzz: If Elizabeth Rohm's character was gay, then it fits. The D.A. -- R.J. Brande: old, rarely seen until the end, and makes pithy comments, by damn!
Next three choices:
Star Trek: The Next Generation House Grey's Anatomy

Originally posted by Quislet, Esq.: Mrs. C: Triplicate Girl - TG seems to be the most domestic of all the Girl Legionnaires
Mr. C: Marla Latham - Older advisor but really not that involved in the story

Star Trek the next generation
Capt. Picard: Brainiac 5 - more of a thinker than a fighter, can be aloof and not good around children.
Commander Riker: Mon-el rugged strong man with a secret sensative side
Counselor Troi: Psyche (of the Wanderers) Technically not a Legionnaire, but her powers most closely match Troi's and I didn't think Saturn Girl had enough empathy to play Troi.
Lt Commander Data: Quislet - Has the metal body and wants to interact with humans
Lt Commander La Forge: Invisible Kid II - both are kind of wall-flower types
Dr. Crusher: Kinetrix -- both for the fiery red hair and the assertiveness of the character
Lt. Worf: Timber Wolf - got to go with the obvious
Next Shows: Sticking with House, & Grey's Anatomy, & Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Okay, I'll give Buffy a shot (the cast of the early seasons, mainly):
Buffy -- Laurel Gand: you gotta have a kick-ass, cute blonde. Willow -- White Witch: all witchy and stuff (the original Mysa was even a red-head!). Xander -- Rond Vidar: the ordinary guy who often gets in over his head. Giles -- Brainiac 5, obviously. Tara -- Ayla Ranzz: Auburn-haired, demure (in early versions), and gay. Angel -- Jo Nah: beefy heart-throb with a tortured past. Cordelia -- Tinya Wazzo: She's got the spoiled rich brat background, and could be catty if she wanted to be. Spike -- Mekt Ranzz; c'mon, he's perfect! Drusilla -- Spider Girl, pre-reformed.

Col. Hogan: 5YL Tenzil; smart-alecy but competent. Kinch: Reep - the best spy, never got caught (even as a black man in a Nazi uniform), never a limelight-seeker but gets the job done. Carter: Garth, the farm-boy Newkirk: no perfect fit; Gates comes closest in attitude. LaBeau: Jacques, for Frenchness.
Col. Klink: Universo (monacle and bald, of course) Shultz: Sugyn Hilda: Reboot Luornu, the competent office manager also handy at espionage.
Col. Crittenden: Threeboot Rokk, full of himself and hot air. Gen. Burkhalter: Leland McCauley III (the 60s one) Gestapo Major Wolfgang Hochstetter: Garlack, the Khund Warlord

St. Elsewhere:
Dr. Donald Westphall -- Star Boy: Kind of a sad-sack hero who means well but whose plans often backfire. Dr. Daniel Auschlander -- Mon-El: very old (in chronological terms) and suffering from a fatal disease (lead poisoning versus cancer). Dr. Mark Craig -- Wildfire: brash and outspoken; apt to make as many enemies as friends.
Dr. Victor Ehrlich -- Comet Queen: an off-the-wall character who seems shallow and superficial. Dr. Peter White -- Atmos: the rapist, natch. Dr. Eliot Axelrod -- Bouncing Boy: overweight and often used for comedy relief. Dr. Bobby Caldwell -- Sun Boy: the womanizer who comes to a bad end. Orderly Luther Hawkins -- Devlin O'Ryan: a junior member trying to become part of the big leagues. Dr. Wayne Fiscus -- Matter-Eater Lad: same off-the-wall sense of humor. Dr. Jack Morrison -- Lightning Lad: the guy who gets all the bad luck. Nurse Helen Rosenthal -- Queen Projectra: the matronly head nurse who goes up against senior management in a contract dispute. Nurse Lucy Papandrao -- Kono: aggressive and independent, but not as much as she'd like to think. Dr. Philip Chandler -- Tyroc: a serious young black who doesn't really know what he wants to be (or what writers want him to be).

Three's Company:
Jack: Ultra Boy - overall nice guy but can be a jerk at times and can be somewhat klutzy.
Janet: Shrinking Violet - brunette, intellegent, bit of a wallflower
Chrissie: Comet Queen - Ditzy but lovable
Mrs. Roper: Dawnstar - Sexually frustrated partner
Mr. Roper: Wildfire - only to match up with Mrs. Roper.

Scooby Doo:
Scooby: Proty II, who could easily become a dog.
Shaggy: Chameleon Boy, Proty's "master."
Fred: Element Lad -- the curly blonde hair, natch!
Daphne: Shvaughn Erin -- she fits, both physically and via her relationship with Jan.
Velma: Cera Kesh -- plain Jane, and when she loses her Eye (glasses), she's "blind."

Scrubs:
JD: Invisible Kid (Lyle)--mostly for the physical type. Turk: Sun Boy--as good a match as any. Carla: Shadow Lass--temper! Elliott: Saturn Girl--'nuff said. Dr. Cox: Cosmic Boy--good personality match (and I wouldn't mind seeing Cox in a bustier) Dr. Kelso: RJ Brande--Father figure Janitor: Quislet--clearly from a different universe The Todd: Ultra Boy--'nuff said.

Michael Westen - Ultra Boy (Street smarts mixed with the good looks) Fiona Glenanne - Phantom Girl (looks the part better than anyone ele. Sam Axe - Matter Eater Lad (since I always picture a young Bruce playing him in the TMK stuff) Madeline Westen - Dreamy (seems like her aged up a bit)
Next: Lost (first season crew, too many if you go further...comeone else can do the Tailees and freighter people.) House Psych
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

might I suggest some variety in eras among the three choices? Sticking with a single era is rather limiting to anyone not familiar with a particular era (not everyone watches current shows, for instance).
