I should go with Def, as the Poison song reminds me of a past girlfriend, but I'm going to say "Every Rose..." anyway.
Besides, sugar is just plain messy.

Let's see...Sugar poured on me, which sounds quite delightful, OR being stabbed by a thorn and perhaps bleeding to death...
I'm kinky! Give me Sugar Pourin' every time!

I've only discovered 80's music through the joys of "Best of the 80's" compilation CDs! But unfortunately neither of these songs are on any of the ones I own. I vaguely feel like I've heard 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' somewhere though so that gets my vote for sheer recognition factor.

Pretty close, but Def Leppard takes this round by 1 vote!
ROUND 4
It's time to sax it up a bit, with a couple of sax-heavy songs...

I **love** the sax hook in "The One You Love", very sexy.... BUT... I just can't help but think "Smooth Operator" is just the better written song, lyrics-wise and is pretty sexy itself.
Gonna edge this one out to Sade.

Since Sade dedicated that song (secretly, of course) to me, I'll vote for her too.

Hands down, Yes. Only two other groups with hits in the 80's would I have even considered a challenge and that would have been Heart or Pink Floyd.

Hmmm, two OK pop tracks by bands that had done a lot better earlier in their careers.
I'll go with the Yes song 'cos I think it's more memorable.

I going to go with the Romantics. I like the song better, plus their video had all the scantily clad ladies in it and the Yes video was sort of disturbing.

I'll go with Genesis. They were really starting to bland out by this point but "That's All" is still a decent tune.

i hate to do this 'cause i love "that's all" but my vote goes for "Break my Stride". it's tone is upbeat and optimistic, while "that's all" is somber and slighty pessimistic. how can you lose with a catchy verse like: " ain't nothin' gonna breaka' my stride, nobody's gonna hold me down, ohh no!!!,.. i've got to keep on movin'..." it has that old school jamacian dance hall reagae feel to it. it's catchy and slightly cheesey and it still makes you want to bop your head to it when you hear it on the radio.
