I used to say snow, but then there seemed to be a veritable avalanche of snow scenes in comic books.

So, I don't know... sailboats? Especially properly drawn sailboats.

[tangent] my favorite snow scene was in Alpha Flight (issue 4, IIRC), where Snowbird fights Wendigo in a blizzard. Six pages of white panels with sound effects. Hilarious. [/tangent]

Those were SO cool. I once found a Neal Adams werewolf story comic book with one of those in it.
I never played it (of course), that was the heyday of vinyl and NO WAY was I going to screw up my sound system with a weird little piece of plastic.

DC COMICS PRESENTS the Mega-crossover event of 2009:

FINANCIAL CRISIS

A man known as "The Monetizer":

helps people achieve their dreams by securing finance for them. Only later do we find out that he purposely failed to do his due dilligence and he's really a villain "The ANTI-MONETIZER" trying to destroy the heroes.

Superman? Bankrupted when he defaults on Superman Series A: Lifetime Earnings Bonds, because Clark Kent was laid off when the newspaper publishing industry dies.

The Hall of Justice, paid for by auction rate tax-free municipal bonds now reset to LIBOR + 13%, is repossessed and Justice League evicted.

JSA: Went bust when their underfunded pension plans went belly up.

Titans: Stranded off planet with Adam Strange when Dick and Tim's lines of credit are called because the value of the Wayne Corp stock collateralizing their lines falls causing their starship pilot to withhold services.

In the Future: Legionnaires quit being heroes after becoming obsessed with materialism and spending every moment of their lives working to pay credit card debts they run up buying the latest gadget.

Lightweight. tongue

A real fanboy would be more horrified at the thought of ruining the comic's mint status by removing the sound sheet. Thank You.

Oh, and now I remember. The old Fantagraphics comic with the soundsheet was Critters. Which leads me to say that the word "critter" is most assuredly not used often enough in comics. Waid/Kitson missed an awesome opportunity in that arena when they turned Cham into an androgyne but failed to use "Critter" as a suffix in lieu of "Boy."

Oh, well. We can look back now and laugh, can't we ?

hmmm

Superheroes (or villains) who are married, and stay married, and maybe even have kids. Superheroes with non-super-powered siblings (or parents) that are a part of their lives.

Rich superheroes (or villains) with *any* living relatives. It seems like all the rich ones (Bruce, Tony, Warren, Emma) are parent-adjacent, and usually sibling-adjacent as well.

Religious superheroes (or villains) who go to church/temple/synagogue/mosque on a weekly basis (but whose powers have nothing to do with their faith).

Costumes that use colors like brown, yellow or gray. Not everybody looks good in bright red and blue! (Or wants to creep around the shadows in black.)

Indians. (Not Native Americans, which are crawling out of the woodwork, especially in Marvel! The ones from India.) For a group that makes up such a large percentage of the world's population, they seem to have gotten the short end of the metahuman stick.

Foreign characters whose powers have nothing to do with their place of birth or ethnicity. Couldn't there be some Australian supers whose powers or schtick don't involve the Dreamtime (if Aborigine) or throwing boomerangs (if Caucasian)?

Hellblazer 42 a battle of wits with the devil for a friend's soul
Hellblazer 49 (a christmas story)
Hellblazer 50 (an intellectual stand-off rather than blood and guts)
Hellblazer 62 a light family tale
Hellblazer 63 John Constantine's 40th b'day, chuck full of guest-stars (Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Phantom Stranger) and ganja
Hellblazer 71 about bouncing back from the edge; nice parallel WWII story
Hellblazer 76 a friendly ghost story; sequel to #42

Preacher 25&26 the 'origin'/nostalgic reminiscing of Cassidy, the Irish vampire

The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Looks like you've got the making for a Vertigo special ops comic, if you keep the vampires.

I read plenty of Vertigo AND Wildstorm. I own all Doom Patrol comics by Pollack and Morrison except for the annual, the volume of Animal Man where he found out he's a comic character...

...

Love?

A good-old fashioned robbery.

I want to see a couple of punks try to hold up their local 7-11, only to be stopped by the entire Justice Society.
