Chris Claremont appears to be writing, no artist yet, although everyone's speculating that its Salvador Larocca.

Hmmmmm... according to the article, X-treme is one of Marvel's best selling titles, so naturally they cancel it to re-introduce a title that was previously cancelled.

Interesting.

Maybe instead of launching new titles, they should clean up the crap that Uncanny has become...

It was announced a month or two back that Claremont & Alan Davis are taking that over.

As long as it's got Kitty & Lockheed (and not even so much as a cameo of Pete Wisdom) I'll be happy! laugh

Austen is leaving Uncanny? Confirmed? If so, I am very happy. I have to get the book because Larocca is on art chores -but the current storyline might have promise.

Excalibur was my favorite x-book. With Claremont and Davis then it shall be so again.

*sigh* Davis is not doing Excalibur, Davis is doing Uncanny X-Men. Davis is not doing Excalibur, Davis is doing Uncanny X-Men. Davis is not doing Excalibur, Davis is doing Uncanny X-Men.

uhmmm... I'm sorry?

I guess I read through the thread too quickly.

Alan Davis on anything has my money. Pair him with Claremont and its all good. If Larocca is leaving Uncanny then I am completely signed on if he goes to Excalibur. I can't stand the current X-Treme art team.

So, let me get this straight: Davis is doing Excalibur, right? Davis, Excalibur?

[waiting to see if that vein in SoM's forehead will pop]

Oh dear. I do hope that Captain Britain and Meggan come back. How can you have an Excalibur without Captain Britain and Meggan?

I loved Alan Davis's original run on Excalibur -- it's one of my all-time favorites. Loved Cap and Meggan, Nightcrawler and Kitty, and especially Rachel in her red, spiky dominatrix outfit.

Even the one-issue Excalibur crossover with "Inferno" was memorable. (While the group is flying on their own power over the Atlantic, Kitty has to use the bathroom. Cap asks: "Couldn't you, er, phase?")

So Davis is doing Excalibur! Cool! I can't wait, cuz' the Davis-Claremont collaboration on the original Excalibur is one of my faves!

I know...I did say I "hope"! wink You'll have to forgive me my excitement just a bit, but Excalibur was always my favorite X-Title, and Coipel's art is one of the main reasons I started reading Legion laugh

Well, that, and the fact that my brother is buying me a page of original artwork by Coipel for my birthday next month!!! cool

Well, given how ridiculously delayed the last issue of Red Zone was, and how Sean Chen was uncerimoniously plugged in for a mid-arc fill-in on A79 (with A78 delayed for at least a fortnight @ this point), I have to suggest that calling Oliver the regular penciller on anything may be a bit of a joke @ this point...

thanks for the info on the fill-in artist !! didn't know this .... put in Olivier's defense !!!

he had an accident just before Christmas and his hand/wrist was in a cast for a couple of weeks !!!

so this probably gave him the setback .....

Legion #7, Page 12

I got to pick it out and I went with that one because it has some great shots of Vi! None of the other Legionnaires are there, but some of the really cool group shots were waaaaay out of his price range. I don't mind their absence too much though, since Vi is one of my favorite Legionnaires smile

This will make the second original art page I've gotten. (The other being a Lee Sullivan page from Doctor Who Magazine...)

They've got a bunch of Coipel work, from both Legion and Avengers, along with many other artists' stuff. Chris Batista is listed as well, but unfortunately they've yet to update his page to include his Legion work... frown

I've gotten a couple of Olivier's pages from them. And I'm getting tired of waiting for Chris' work to show. He tells me that he is just waiting for Chris to send it in. And I know once he does I'll lose out on the couple of pages I really want. Just like I did witht he page from the Secret Files of 'Jarth' that I thought I was going to get direct from TnT. Unfortunately I had to go through The Artist's Choice and by the time they got back to me all of the Garth/Jan pages I wanted were gone.

Ok, now's probly not the time for idle boasting but...

Guess what I just put on my wall? The orginal art of page 16 from Legion 21 - the one with a kind of "pin-up" of the new improved Sensor and Shikari.

It sure has beautified my home no end...
