I have to say that I have been really happy about what has been happening. Detective was a great read. Aquaman is interesting. Firestorm was a good read. This one year later has been so far so good.

Detective has been the best read so far.

I felt like JSA was definitely a let down. Like, whoa.

On the other side of the coin, I was really surprised by how much I liked Aquaman. It was creepy cool in the best possible way. smile

And, I actually really liked Outsiders. I'd be thrilled if they could finally make something out of this book. I thought the premise was good and, though I do miss Roy, I'm mostly happy with which characters they chose to keep to form a cohesive group. Honestly, if any of them would fit into the role, they pretty much got 'em on par.

Well, JSA has had a fantastic run....it's gonna be hard to top what has come before.

As for Outsiders, well, I'm not quite convinced myself how this will play out. I thought when the book first debuted it had a lot of promise, but as time went on it seemed the like the book was mired in the build up to IC. Plus the addition of Jade (how I will miss thee) and CM Jr just didn't fit, IMO. I think it up their power levels too much and neither one seemed like much of an "Outsider" (not that Dick does either). If Roy is truly gone, then I think the book will be poorer for it. The dynamic between him and Dick is something that I've always appreciated considering the environments the two were brought up in.

Aquaman looks solid, as does Batman. It will be interesting to see how these play out.

So the OYL issues are already coming out?

Hmmmm... I would have thought that they would have started after the end of IC.

It's a mixed bag for me.

JSA and Outsiders both felt a little tame. Neither one hooked me. They didn't turn me off either; but I'm not waiting for the next issue.

The changes in Batman and Aquaman are very good however. I'm excited about the concept overall, so a few minor misses are okay with me.

Just spouting off.

JSA is building up to something. I thought people areound here would give Levitz more of a chance to see what he is doing. tease

Outsiders I thought was good too. It will be interesting to see how new Boomer fits in and where Roy went. Maybe Roy will be seen in 52?

On his board Johns has said more or less that he is coming back to JSA after Levitz breaks up this team.

There hasn't been a horrible book yet. The firestorm premise is interesting too.

Batman was excellent, JSA had a good start and I haven't gotten to Aquaman & Firestorm yet.

Outsiders was...meh? Not sure yet. If Dick has 'made' them pretend they were dead for a year or any such crappy Nightwing writing as Winnick is capable of, I'd be very dissapointed, especially in light of a supposed renewed well written Bruce and Dick. I miss Arsenal and Jade, so this is the only one I'm not into yet (its still early).

Overall, I'm very pleased with the OYL concept, 52 and Infinite Crisis right now. Like any good internet posters, however, I will be vocal when I am not pleased.

See, when I read that about the non-powered hero getting powers, I just figured they meant Blue Beetle.

As long as they don't make him like Guy Gardner, WARRIOR, where he can morph his body into different weapons!!

That's what I thought at first. But the last issue of Outsiders before OYL had the team getting dosed in gases. They even wondered what it would do to their system. And Roy spent the end of the issuing wondering what kind of hero he'd be. It seemed like a set-up to me.

I've always been rather blind to what's happening with Roy. I've got some very specific ideas about what should be done with him, so I may be way off here.

I think that powering up Roy would be a mistake. He's a weapons guru... that's his thing, and that's what he should do. Giving him powers would be like giving Bruce Wayne powers... that's not what he's about.

Maybe they'll give Roy Guy's Warrior powers, making him a ... *living weapon!!* (it's just stupid enough to possibly happen)

Wow! Did anyone read Superman? What a great read. And Pete Woods...wow. His art was awesome and his version of Metropolis and The Avenue of Tomorrow were great.

Entertianment Weekly does a review of OYL. Have to say that his view of Birds of Prey is way off, but everything else I am in agreement. Batman and Superman, total agreement and support. There are spoilers though, so be forwarned.

Rtvu2, you are spot on. BoP has been one of their most consistently satisfying titles for some time now. One gets the sense that the 'reviewer' didn't really read the issue or isn't really that up to speed on the book. Or it could be the book didn't interest him enough to try.

Good start to Superman OYL. From the the solicits it looks like this arc will revitalize or introduce new versions of Superman's rogue gallery. This is something that Geoff Johns does well. Two rogues set up in this issue.

Lois and Clark, Jimmy and the Chief are all there. And I hope Supergirl OYL acts as she does here and not as she does in the Loeb series.

The art was very nice, had a bit of a dreamy quality to it.

I read the EW reviews of GA and BOP. I disagree with the reviewer's comments on BOP. It's been a tight read. Gail built Savant and Canary and Huntress up as some great characters in DC's stable. The OYL issue was fun and intersting, and I can't wait to see what happens with the Canaries.

GA was a bit of a disappointment tho'. The issue didn't feature Ollie, or explain what happened to his kids. We got a set-up for a big reveal that DC and Winnick had spoiled months ago. The only bit worth noting was the development with Brick.

As for this week's issue of Nightwing... I miss Devin.

Looks like Aquaman, JSA and Superman are going back to press. Strangely, the incentive cover for Aquaman will be available for orders of the second print which means they knew the 1st ptg was underordered weeks ago. The variant for Aquaman 40 and 41 actually tempt me to do something I've never done. They are quite nice.

As for the EW article, the author evidently doesn't like BoP. The issue wasn't bad, but it didn't grab me. It was sort of average, as Gail's stuff goes, which is probably sitting around 7-7.5 on my scale outta 10.

The fact that I agree with this hurts my soul like you wouldn't believe. Nightwing-- what a disappointment. Like, whoa.

BoP was also disappointing, though only in that I'd been hoping it'd start off with a bang. It didn't but that's okay, y'know? I'm still interested and whatnot. That reviewer definitely had no love for the Birds though. Daaaamn.

You never read any of Bruce Jones' Hulk did you? If you had, you wouldn't have been disappointed - because you wouldn't have had the slightest expectation and probably wouldn't have bought the issue in the first place.

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Reboot is so right here it hurts. Bruce Jones Hulk run has me geared up for a LOOOONG mediocre Nightwing run...
