Apart from Legion I've been off comics for a few years now. What do you all suggest bearing in mind I prefer team books.
Thank you in advance

For me, the second best team book right now is "JSA". Even though it has a long history (something that shouldn't intimidate a Legion fan), it's pretty accessable. And a much younger Mordru's over there right now causing all sorts of trouble!

Give the current INHUMANS title a try. While not a true team book, it centers on a group of 5 or 6 Inhumans who've been selected to integrate with humans on Earth. If the rest of the series lives up to the promise of the first two issues, I might have a new favorite. X-STATIX continues to be a great read. EXILES is one of my favorite books currently, but I'll have to see where they go with it after Winick's stories run out to see if I'm going to stick with it... Just my cents!

Exiles is a good one. I think they've actually been using a new writer's stories for the last arc but some of Winick's stuff is still to come.
I've picked up the Inhumans (have them on my pull list) but they are still waiting to be read.
Ultimates is a good title. When it comes out.
The Avengers had gotten really good but I haven't read anything since Olivier started. Have the issues, just haven't read them.
JLA went to hell as soon as they changed the team. I haven't bothered with it. But JSA is good.
And while not a team book, the current Batman arc 'Hush' is one of the best going right now.

Apart from Legion I'm really enjoying JSA. JSA's use of DC History appeals to me of a real fanboy level, but it is the generally very high quality of art and writing that keeps me coming back.
I also think Grant Morrison's Nex X-Men is great. This is the only Marvel title I read and that's just down to Morrison. A lot of traditional X-Men readers are completely annoyed at him shaking up the X-Men so much but that's why I like it so much.

For more team-book fun I heartily endorse JSA, X-STATIX, EXILES and THE INHUMANS.
JSA and X-STATIX are right up there with THE LEGION in my personal top 5. EXILES and THE INHUMANS are duking it out to take the Top 5 slot soon to be vacated by DOOM PATROL which ends this month.
I also endorse THE ULTIMATES; even if you don't like the story (and don't get me wrong-- I *do* like the story), it is some of the finest comics art I've ever seen.
'Course, it's on about a quarterly schedule now...

I really like the writing on the new New Mutants series. The new characters are interesting and the writers seem to have a really good grasp of the originals. (Only Dani Moonstar's in the book right now, but the writers have discussed the other returning characters online and I like what they have to say.)
There's some drawbacks with the art, unfortunately. Keron Grant does great layouts, and has an eye for body language, but the perspective is sometimes screwy and the faces aren't always believable. Plus, he draws the longest necks I've ever seen in a comic.
Overall though, I'm really enjoying this series.

Bearing in mind that I do know you like team books.... try Lucifer, from Vertigo. Picking up the first couple trades would be essential to grasping the plot of the current storyline, but it is SO WORTH IT! Anyone out there not reading this book needs to give it a look. Mike Carey is an amazing writer who makes the character of Lucifer a complete bastard, and yet honorable. The "House of Windowless Rooms" arc, in which L travels to the underworld of Japanese gods and outwits them is such masterful storytelling! And the following story, about an immortal priestess, is guaranteed a couple good shudders. The great thing is, 20 issues or so later, he keeps a promise made in that story. I mean he may be the devil, but he's good as his word. Can't recommend it highly enough!
