Interesting, but I'm not sure the "rebels vs. old school" comparison holds the slightest bit of water anymore--especially after multiple years of exclusive contracts, artist and writer poaching, and Quesada as editor (every time I read him saying anything, it makes me cringe). The suggestion that DC is for kids and Marvel is for adults or teenagers in particular is laughable. I think that in recent years that formula has completely reversed itself. There's a reason I don't read any Marvel anymore, and it's not because it's written over my head.
"Golden Age?" Have the sales even reached the level of the last "Golden Age" in the early/mid 90's? I know there's a lot of movies coming out, and great things going on outside mainstream comics, but is anyone really making the argument that sales wise OR story/art wise we're in a golden age?
