I loved #1.

This was better.

Maybe I'll have to read it again when I'm not so exhausted. Not that it was bad by any means, one of the best books this month, better than LSH #13. But I didn't enjoy it as much as #1.

Honestly, I was underwhelmed (as I am with All-Star Batman). There are some cute tidbit references here and there, but nothing in this story is drawing me in. I might give it one more issue.

Issue three came out, my only comic purchase of the week. Fortunately it was fun enough to make up for the sad realities of a month with 5 Wednesdays.

Click Here For A SpoilerBiblical Characters, Lizard Men, Super Lois, Greek Demigods and Egyption Mythological beings all appear. Backdrops include Metropolis, the center of the earth, the surface of the Moon and Atlantis... All this trouble to get a date with Lois.

Could this series possibly get any better?

And am I the only one who wants to see an All-Star Time-Travelling Samson and Atlas spinoff series?

I for one demand to see Samson's chronomobile and Atlas' perfumed love chariot.

But is the timestream ready for the Storied Swingin' Strongmen of Song?

This might just be the best comic on the market right now. When I finish it, I actually feel really good.

Grant Morrison was born to write All-Star Superman.

The ending of #3 was very sweet, and I've really warmed up to Quitely's Lois.

This issue only lacked Lois kicking serious butt as Superwoman.

Other than that, it was brilliant.

And next issue is the Jimmy Olsen issue! I'm stoked!

The only bad thing about this series is the waiting between issues... We need to clone Frank Quitely (about 20 times) and Grant Morrison (once or twice) so this can come out weekly. Do you hear me, National Science Foundation? Fulfil your mandate.

Seriously, I cant remember reading a comic with such a smile on my face the whole time.

this is one of my recent favs.

hate morrison. like him here so far but, im sure theres a ledge somewhere. maybe i just need to think of his stories outside of continuity...or as not a big deal, just a self contained good story.

not usually a big fan of supes.

love quietly's art.

This title is lots of fun. I loved Samson and Atlas. Loved the art. Only Morrison can take this old corny stories and make them fun again...unlike other writers who force the old stories down our throats...and they are just corny with an edge. *ahem*

The art was awesome.

Issue #3 was a blast - Samson and Atlas as fellow 'Super-Men' was inspired. The dialogue was perfect - I loved Lois' tired acceptance of her diminishing powers.
This is a good comic. nod

No comments yet on #4? I thought it was pretty groovy, if not *quite* as excellent as the previous issue. But it definitely captured the feel of a classic Jimmy Olsen story!

I won't get my copy until July 1. But I'll be ready as I've been reading my Superman Family Showcase.

#4 definitely wasn't as good as the previous 3 issues but there were still enough crazy Morrison seeds and quality Quitely art in it to make it enjoyable.

All Star Superman is probably my surprise #1 comic at the moment! Before Seven Soldiers I thought Grant Morrison was THE most overrated writer on the planet, but everything he's done since then has been gold. Not just gold. Platinum!

I wish this series came out weekly! And I can't wait to see what fun elements from the Superman mythos he incorporates next!

Revisiting the question of how Lucy sticks with the fashion challenged Jimmy? Add Bits of modern Superman continuity re-imagined into a silvery-age context. What's not to like?

The Lucy-Jimmy scenes were the best part of the story. Something else else just didn't quite do it for me about the rest of it, but it's hard to put my finger on exactly what. Of course, by "didn't quite do it for me" I mean it wasn't as awe-inspiring as the previous issues. It's still one of the best comics I've read this month.

Loved it loved it loved it.

Doomsday Olsen - more P.R.O.J.E.C.T. babble - a very cool future-retro Jimmy - and so many little gems.
I think this may be my favourite title. smile

I thought it was great.

I'm not sure what it means that I had to explain to several people at my comic shop that Morrison hadn't up and made Olsen transgendered.

"...and then the inimitable Lex Luthor opened up the floor and shook hands with a baboon in a Superman suit..."

This series continues to be incredible!

Lex Luthor is the smartest man on Earth, except for the one...

But you can tell that Clark was at the very limit of his guile to stay that one step ahead of him.

any other supergirl fans notice "Nasty" at the end as the old supergirl foe and Luthor's neice? are we getting an all-star supergirl guest-star issue? can the LSH be far behind???

I didn't realise Nasty was a pre-established character. Where/when did she first appear?

P.S. Still loving All Star Superman! As EDE says - it is incredible! Absolute comic goodness in every issue!
