This book is amazing. Distilled on every page is the stuff that makes Superman and his supporting cast fun. It's just an amazing accomplishment, and a welcome alternative to big event storytelling.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I doubt that it makes that date. ASSM #6 isn't due out until early January.

Planetary and Rising Stars killed it for me. Both good books, but the interminable wait was too much for me. I'm not sticking around for books like ASSM or ASB&RTBW.
Just spouting off.

Even though I just ranted and raved about how I wasn't putting up with delayed books anymore after the bitter disappointments that were the Seven Soldiers finale and the last 10 or so Planetary issues (which took about 4 years to come out)... I <whisper> have no intention of dropping this book. Its just too damn good! The fact that every issue is a self-contained story is a big help too! Waiting months between issues is much more palatable when there's nothing important you need to be remembering.

This is possibly one of my favorite books out there right now. It's one of the few titles I pick up and actually have a feeling of satisfation when I'm done. I don't think I've read and actual Superman comic in decades prior to this (and that goes double for that deplorable Death of Superman fiasco). But Morrison and Quitely are one of my favorite teams. Hell, I'd even read Teen Titans if they were doing it.
Is that a moon?

Issue six is out but I won't get my copy for another couple of weeks. Anyone pick it up yet? Is this supposed to be our Legion issue?

It's not a Legion ish, but it does feature some heroes from the future. No spoilers from me, but this was the best issue yet. Morrison remains my favorite writer out there right now.

It is a Superboy/Young Superman issue. It also contained elements of the DC One Million Superman. I enjoyed it very much.

I guess I wasn't clear. I know the Legion doesn't make an appearance as such but was this intended to be Morrison's idea of the Legion? Did we get shortchanged?

I don't think anyone would think "Legion" from this issue. There is a <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">"Supermen descendants who fix problems with time" Squad</span></span>

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Mostly it was a "Superman getting a chance to say goodbye to Jonathon Kent before he dies" issue. With time travel and a few Superman descendants to add to the story.</span></span>
It was a homage to every other non-Legion Silver Age Superman tale. I highly doubt that this is the Legion All Star Superman story.

That makes me feel better. All I was hearing was it was three teens from the future, chasing a villain and giving Kent an insight to his life as Superman. Sort of sounds like the New Kids in Town episode of the animated Superman.

Another fantastic issue.
This is still one of the best books out there now.
And Krypto rocks.

All-Star Superman #6. Perhaps the best Superman story I've ever read. Definately one of the best comic books I read in years. I admit it: I teared up. It's official: Morrison is probably my favorite comic book writer (Darwyn Cooke is in a category of his own). This issue was so good that I'll probably reread it many, many times in the future. I'm proud to be a Superman fan right now.

Jillikers! I can't wait to pick this up!
You know... I'm almost to the point of no longer reading any superhero comics other than All-Star Superman and The Spirit, as everything else just pales in comparison to these two!
