Newsarama is reporting the original finished inks for a two-p. spread from SUPERMAN/BATMAN #6 were stolen from the artist, Dexter Vines, in Baltimore this past weekend. Here are the colored pages as they saw print:

Generally, what happens in these cases is the theft gets enough publicity where the thief can't sell the work. So, unless they took it for themselves, the perpetrator is SOL .

Mr. Vines has provided Newsarama with an address for the work to be returned, no questions asked.

I can not believe someone did this at a convention and no one noticed. No one in line saw anyone take this?? hard to believe..must be an inside job.

I dunno 'Gazer. We had a chance to run off with the Legion's #1 b/w ashcan a few times and resisted temptation...barely...

When those silly signings and scheduled events start happening there are LOTS of people crowding around.

True.

Things work a little differently at the Baltimore con. DC had a booth, but all the creators had their own booths where they did all their signing and sketching. Unless they brought their own help, there wouldn't necessarily be extra eyes to keep watch over things.

Everybody forgets I was a Supervillian when I first found the LMBP. I didn't actually join until AFTER battling the Legionnaires and blowing up the clubhouse (the first time it was destroyed I believe)
Sort of like some of Giffen's additions during that EarthWar story. Of course simple "grab and run" heists were never my specialty, I've always found that the best way to steal from a bank is to own it.
