In recent years there's ALOT of nostalgia for the 1980s(I grew up in that period, anyone else?) Clothes were neon, the cars were gutless and music was done either by a computer or something called "WHAM." Anyway,my point is,can you name your favorite comic book titles of the 1980s? I kinda liked the early independant/creator owned titles and in particular, the artwork. But I had a soft spot for the Pre-Crisis ALL-STAR SQUADRON.

All-Star was responsible for my love for all things Golden Age. That would be my pick as well.
Updated to reflect some that I remember now:
Booster Gold G.I. Joe JLI The Badger (when I could find it)

As soon as saw the thread title, All-Star Squadron was the first thing that came to mind.

I thought All-Star Squadron was great also. The '80s were my personal comic-book golden age. Among the titles I collected:
DC: Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld Legion of Super-Heroes Atari Force (I recommend to all that you hunt down the back issues and check it out for yourselves) Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew Blue Beetle Booster Gold Thriller (another one nobody talks about anymore) Jonni Thunder a.k.a. Thunderbolt Infinity Inc. Batman and the Outsiders Manhunter (the Mark Shaw version) Electric Warrior Lords of the Ultra-Realm Slash Maraud Blue Devil Justice League of America Watchmen
Non-DC: Elfquest Groo the Wanderer New Mutants

Well, when I read 80's comics, it was usually in the 90's when I was a young teenager, but I've extensively read Marvel and DC's 80's comics (helps to have my father's collection ): All Star Squadron Legion Titans (Perez/Wolfman) Firestorm DC Comics Presents - some GREAT stories here! Ambush Bug Swamp Thing (Alan Moore) Justice League (Giffen) Suicide Squad Late 80's Batman & Detective Comics Watchman Dark Knight Returns Crisis on Infinite Earths Daredevil (Frank Miller's two runs) X-Men (Claremont & Byrne's tail end, Claremont & Romita Jr., really everything up until Mutant Massacre) Fantastic Four (Byrne) Amazing Spider-Man (Stern & Romita Jr. and then Machio & Frenz) Peter Parker, the Spectaculur Spider-Man (Peter David) Thor (Walt Simonson) Captain America (Mike Zeck) Iron Man (Armor Wars, and then later with Romita Jr. on art) Admittingly, I can hardly remember when a comic book was in the late 70's/early 80's and then likewise of the late 80's/early 90's. All I remember of the 80's was bad TV, bad fasion and the worst music in the history of music . And I was a pre-teen!

LSH (this was the Great Darkness era, after all) Watchmen Bozz Chronicles Dalgoda (from Fantagraphics) All-Star Squadron (up to Crisis) New Teen Titans/New Titans Power Man & Iron Fist Captain Atom Suicide Squad Airboy
This list is by no means exhaustive -- for most of the '80s, I read about 30 titles a month -- but these are the first ten titles than popped into my mind.
The '80s was the era when "alternative comics" (e.g., anything not published by Marvel and DC) rose. I warmed up to them slowly, largely because there was no comics specialty store in my hometown until '83. But once I embraced them, I went all the way. They offered a fresh perspective in comics, and even Marvel and DC expanded beyond their main universes.

Flash v2 (geez, a shocker) New Mutants (by far and wide, my favorite of the four) New Teen Titans Uncanny X-Men ...I'm sure there are more but those're the ones that came immediately to mind. Of course, I didn't read them during the '80s... I couldn't read yet.

Besides Legion:
Amethyst Captain Carrot
And one nobody has mentioned but everyone should read: 'Mazing Man! I loved this quirky little slice-of-life book.

Legion of Super-Heroes New Teen Titans Avengers Justice League of America Fantastic Four All-Star Squadron Infinity Inc X-Men New Mutants
(Can you tell I was a sucker for team books?)

Anyone remember a Canadian comic book called Neil The Horse? Created by Arn Saba(prior to having a sex change by the mid-90s)and originally published by Aardvark-Vanahiem and later by Renegade Press.
Aardvark-Vanahiem also published Cerebus the Aardvark during the 1980s.Who's publishing Cerebus now?

I'd like to add 'Mazing Man.

Other good things about the 1980's: ZOT!Gladstone hiring Don Rosa and William Van Horn to create new Disney Duck comics. Originally posted by RED-001: Anyone remember a Canadian comic book called Neil The Horse? Not only do I remember it, I bought the T-shirt and the button set. With the motto "Making the World Safe for Musical Comedy", how could I not buy 'em?
