OP lancesrealm Wanderer L Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 5,267 Cincinnati	For Christmas I got a hardbook edition of Ultimate Spiderman. The thing is, I am not familiar with the Ultimate line. What did Marvel do: just decide to tell the same stories over with a different writer? Can anybody bring me up to speed on the Ultimates? Thanks!

Clean slate, but familiar elements get "re-imagined". Any ties to past incarnations (or Marvel 616) is only through readers' knowledge - there are no direct ties. There's not too much to say about "The Ultimates" - they're a super-hero group put together by SHIELD, they found Captain America in a block of ice and have basically been fighting each other ever since.
