Listed here, for discussion purposes, is a list of the comics to be released in March 2004 that I have pre-ordered.
My monthly budget is currently $80, post 15% discount. So, these are the books I deemed most worthy of my dollar. Any disagreements?
It is worth noting that my order is a little smaller that usual for two reasons this month. One is that the Peanuts book eats up most of the budget. Second, as this is the first month that I will be buying my comics with the money I make as a stringer for the paper, I was trepedatious about overestimating my income...
Dark Horse Comics The Month #1
DC Comics DC: New Frontier #3 Gotham Central #17 HERO #14 Plastic Man #4 JSA #59 JLA #94 JLA #95 Superman: Secret Identity #3 Teen Titans #9 The Flash #208 The Legion #31
Marvel Comics 1602 #8 Amazing Spider-Man #505 Amazing Spider-Man #506 Fantastic Four #511 Ultimate Fantastic Four #4
Crossgen Comics El Cazador: Blackjack Tom #1
Fantagraphics The Complete Peanuts vol.1
TwoMorrows Publishing Alter Ego #34
Total Retail: $90.89 Purchase Price: $77.25

I'll agree. I probably would have skipped this had Byrne been inking himself. After all, Claremont has never done much for me outside of those golden years on the X-Men with Byrne. I am actually quite intrigued to see what Ordway does with Byrne. Given Ordway's participation, I now figure I would have bitten regardless of who was writing.

Truely. I can now only antipcate the great wave of sadness, the swirling churning vortex of hopelessness and despair, that will surely wash over me when finally Moore drops the final curtain on the wonderful ABC line. But for ABC, I might have lost my interest in comics altogether....

What was the retail on all that? Just interested in what I could be getting. I still cannot fathom abandoning my local dealer.

The retail before shipping was $89.16, Duke. There were a number of specials at above the usual 35% discount-- Negation War, the Ruse and El Cazador specials, Avengers/Tbolts 1+2,and the two JLA issues were all 50% off.
