Nevermind how you feel about a certain band - love, hate, lust, fear, disgust etc... which bands do you think just have/had awesome names??
Some names I like: Motorhead Cowboy Junkies Bikini Kill Shirley Temple of Doom Love and Rockets The Go-Go's X-Ray Spex
more as I think of them...

Soundgarden has got to be one of the best ever.
Strawberry Alarm Clock was a good one.
When I cater (the obligatory teacher's SECOND job), an in-house joke is that we always looking for good band names: The Ramekins, 7 Day Bag (a plastic bag with the days on them so you know how old the food is), Indian Box...Big fun, when you run 3 weddings and receptions in one night.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!

The Police's one-off alter egos, Klark Kent. (Just seemed appropriate today... ) Another sideband, with members from my favorite group (and another great nom) drivin' n' cryin'-- Kathleen Turner Overdrive. To my knowledge, neither band ever officially recorded, though KTO performed around Atlanta, and Klark Kent performed on the Beeb's Top of the Pops with bags on their heads...

Damn Pov, I was gonna mention both of these! Both acts did record, btw. Klark Kent was pretty much Stewart Copeland's thing and I believe there's a CD comp of his stuff out there somewhere. The KTO put out a self-titled LP on an indie label in '94.

Searching thru obscure online record stores, I find so many great bands purely on the basis of their names, so "cool names" are an important facor for me. Among my faves of the last 8 years...
STEREOPHONIC SPACE SOUND UNLIMITED THE MEN FROM S.P.E.C.T.R.E. DESINTATION: EARTH! BIG RAY & THE FUTURAS THE METALUNAS DALEK BEACH PARTY DEL NOAH & THE MT. ARARAT FINKS THE HYPNOMEN JACKIE & THE CEDRICS THE CADILLAC HITMENTHE BARBARELLAS CATFIGHT! THE DIABOLIKS THE BOOTY OLYMPICS

Ape Has Killed Ape Johnny Puke and the Sleazy Weasels Eagles of Death Metal Bongzilla Anal C*nt (not sure about the swearing rule on these boards, but there you are)
and BTW, 3 Inches of Blood tear it up, old school thrash style! I thought I'd died and went back to 1986.
I used to get high on life, but I built up a tolerance.

Our local alternative radio station, yes Salt Lake City has a couple of these stations (miracles do happen) anyway they are featuring music by a band called 'Dogs Die in Hot Cars.' I have heard that they call themselves that to raise awareness of the hellacious practice of leaving pets and small chilren alone in cars. Anyway, that is the most outrageous band name I have heard lately.

One of the only names for my old garage band that I can still remember was Los Bozos which we thought was funny at the time.

The name of my old band was called "Induced Vomit", although we started out as the "Flying F*ks". We were a pretty crappy band
