I'm so stuck on this game. My hubby likes it too. And he's happy I like it so much because that meant he got to upgrade his PC so he could give me his old one so I'd be able to play, since it's not on Mac. (He was doing a gradual upgrade anyway but was glad to speed things up a bit.)

I'll have to get screen grabs of my characters to post. I've got two so far.

I saw someone named Kid Flash who looked a whole lot like Kid Flash. I've heard the creators will delete any such characters, though, to avoid copyright trouble. It think it's just copyrighted names they're checking, though.

I think the thing now is to try and get their attention, without breaking copyright laws, so you can get featured in their monthly comic. I don't know when it will start up but all subscribed members will receive the comic when it starts. And they are supposed to feature some of the denizens that were created by us.

I haven't seen Kid Flash but I do think Robin was calling himself Robin. I don't plan on creating any copyrighted characters but I have noticed others. I've seen the Tick, calling himself The Tick, and Witchblade. I think, though, for the most part everyone is trying to come up with something original.

Seymour, do you and the hubby each have a copy of the game? Caroline wants to play, although I'm not sure our desktop is up to speed for it, and I'm wondering if we can use the same copy or if she needs her own. Since you have to register when you start I'm thinking two copies are required.

you could play on line with others too via a local LAN party or through Gamespy besides playing the game solo.

Although with all the combinations available you could probably recreate anything you wanted with time and patience. I saw someone running around yesterday in what looked like the Earth 2 version of the Boy Wonder's costume, including the R on his chest. It must have taken the player some time in recreating it.

I never got that far into the game. I did pick it up because of its comicbook based theme but it just didn't capture me the way CoH has.

if you dont want to play at the same time you can use the one copy. Just set up seperate characters for yourselves.

I love the game! I hang out on Justice, Victory, and (as of this afternoon) Virtue.

My characters so far:

Justice: Goddess Urd (Illusion Control/Kinetics)

Victory: Electricia (Um, the two Electric Blaster power sets)

Virtue: J-Frost (Ice Blast/Ice Manipulation)

What Comic Addict Lad said.

I think he just loaded it on both our machines, and we share an account. But we can't play at the same time. (He can, however, play other games at the same time.)

CoH is very very addictive. Once you get out of the mindset of levelling, and you start enjoying missions, chatting to fellow heroes and generally whacking people about its an incredible amount of fun

frown Having discovered that my museum exhibit (computer) isn't up to snuff by comparing it's virtues to the minimum requirements posted by Scot (Thanks Scott!), I've realized that I absolutely must go out and immediately upgrade to a new computer.

It's great when you find a bunch of friends on-line too and just team up to help with each others missions. That's what I wound up doing last night. Been playing with a friend from Illinois since I started but then two other friends of ours showed up, one stationed in Germany and the other in Hawaii and we had a blast.

I'm still really weak on the extra commands and chatting. And still focusing on the leveling because I want to hit the magic level (10) so we can form a real team.

Vee, if you can afford it, I really think its worth it. Believe me I wouldn't say that about any game. I'm someone whose computer is mostly used for programming and storage (you wouldn't believe how many comic books I now have saved electronically). I'm not a gamer at all but this one is just too fun.

I've actually got all series including the current run up to the current issue all saved. The special one-shots and such is an on-going thing that I don't think I'll ever get completed. I just added the Amazing World of DC Comics #9 to the collection. But as it stands to get everything, series-wise, from Adv. #247 to The Legion #32 takes 8 GB. That's gigabyte, not megabyte. So the best way is to burn a couple of data-DVD's. Otherwise it takes almost 13 CD-R's to hold it all.

This is my plan. Anyone going to the San Diego con this year can request copies from me via e-mail and I'll bring the discs. Any other requests, for those not attending, please also send me an e-mail so we don't get the board in trouble with TPTB. They probably frown on this new electronic format of comic trading.

I'm seriously contemplating (No you're not, I've decided for you already!) the prospect of upgrading my computer. I've actually found myself checking out various computer sites online to see what's available.(Of course you have. I told you we were getting one!) Guess I'll go out looking this weekend if I have a chance. (Unless I get too antsy and make you buy one before then.)

Now I have to decide whether to be practical and get something sufficient to accomplish the minimum that I want it to do...and maybe a little more Yeah right! or go all out and get the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles, (Ding! ding! ding! We have a winner!) knowing full well that as soon as I get it home it will be antiquated.

So todays question is: If you were going out to buy a new computer what would you say it really MUST have so it's not a waste of money? (Please, please, please tell him he has to get the hot little gaming machine I saw at the Dell site! Man it had EVERYTHING! Please!) As you can tell, I'm of two minds on this. laugh

Depends on how much control that other guy has over you. laugh

Personally I've found the pre-made machines by HP to be good, long lasting computers. If you are going to be doing a lot of gaming then concentrate on one that has higher end components for the video card and memory. I've never owned a Dell but if I were going for a strictly gaming machine and didn't mind spending the extra money, this is who I would get my machine from.

ElasticLad Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! *Runs for cover*

(Now that's cool! Love the Conspiracy Blue version of the Level 51 Performance model! But, judging from his reaction at the moment, I'm not sure if I have THAT much influence & control.) cool

With the Legion 'ending', now is your chance to work out that frustration. Grab a copy of CoH and play along with us. Just imagine your favorite Legion editor when you WACK-er a few bad guys.

I swear, the game is addictive. Caroline is already calling it herocrack.

BTW, I even started a Live Journal for my character. Not much updated yet but I'll be adding to it as I play. You'll find his journal here .

Weeeeelllllll! I broke down and got the new computer yesterday (the weekend turned out to be very hectic...which allowed me a small moral victory over that OTHER guy! laugh )

Ordered the game from Amazon. It should arrive tomorrow (which proves HE has more control than I'm willing to admit. While I delayed the computer purchase by a day, HE made me fork over extra cash for one day shipping! laugh )

So I guess I'll see you in Paragon City later this week!

Cool Vee! You'll have to let me know when you are on-line. I try to limit my times to the weekend but sneak in an hour or two at night as well.
