From about 2008 through 2010, I loved Lady Gaga. No longer.

Now it can be told: even back when I loved her, I could tell that something was *off* about her vocal on "Telephone." When she opens the song with,

"Hello, hello, baby, you called? I can't hear a thing!"

it sounded to me like,

"Hulu, hulu, bottle, Yukon agriculture theme."

And later, when she sings,

"Sometimes I feel like I live in Grand Central Station."

it sounded to me like,

"Satanic fecal matter from Grizelda Shea-Shea."

Makes we wonder if maybe the producer and Beyoncé teamed up against Gaga and deliberately used Gaga's worst takes in the final mix?

I hear the last line as "You are seeing it all in green" but it is really "You see it in all 3-D". I was mildly disappointed as I wanted to quote it on a Green Lantern project I was working on last weekend.

And for lo these past 4 decades, I've thought they were saying, "REALLY?!" It seemed to suit the general tone of cheerful jadedness in the song. Huh. But thanks for the correction, E.S. "3-D" it is, from now on.
