So the Wildstorm/DCU war begins.

The DCU heroes appear on the Wildstorm Earth along with the headquarters and entire cities.

The yellow rocket ship HQ appears in Siberia and Chameleon Boy and Invisible Lyle assess the Wildstorm characters they encounter. They seem to have been briefed about the WSU by Brainiac 5.

The DC heroes appearing seem to be from different time eras. The Silver Age JLA, Wolfman-Perez Teen Titans, Adventure LSH and a relatively young JSA who appear at the retirement home in Tranquility Oregon.

I don't think it's a Adventure era Legion. Cham is wearing his Giffen costume. Invisible Kid is not wearing his classic costume I think. Something else else similar but not his usual. It's actually a pretty cool costume. It might be a combo version. They didn't look that young either.

Regardless I didn't think the Legion was going to be this much involved. Giffen did say he was going to use "a" Legion. I think it's a Legion we've never seen before.

Can't wait for my copy to come in next week.

Yeah I was confused by the Legion. I thought it was adventure because of the rocket ship. Lyle's costume actually looks a bit like Barry's designs for him (a military look) but sleeker. I thought they were adults too.

None of the DCU characters except Cham and Lyle have spoken yet about why this is happening. It sure makes it look like that the DCU invasion might have been caused by something Brainy knows about or caused. The other DCU heroes might know too but they were mostly used as the generic hero-hero fights common to this type of crossover.

Tamper Lad I just noticed the costumes were different and clicked that Giffen said he was going to use A Legion.

Personally I'm excited to see yet another Legion. I want 52 of them!

Despite the fact this may end up being "yet another Legion," I was glad I gave this issue a look. I hadn't realized how much I missed seeing any version of Cham and Lyle interacting. There was something about their dialogue I just enjoyed. For only a page of it, we got a lot of nice name drops for other Legionnaires we may be seeing soon.

I also liked the coloring of Lyle's suit, though I think they were intending to use his Adventure look. All in all, I'm actually liking what I saw of the team so far. Pretty good considering I wasn't thinking I'd even skim this book, Legion or no.

I'm really confused by Cham and Lyle. Cham is in his costume from LSH 301 onwards (Levitz/Giffen era) but Lyle and the HQ have to date back to the Adventure days (Shooter got rid of the old HQ mid Adventure run).

Any suggestions?

This was surprisingly enjoyable because it appears the Legion will be more than bit characters (as is normally the case in these crossovers/crises.)

I completely agree with Future regarding Lyle & Cham. It's been a long time since we've seen what was a natural friendship between these two depicted. Their appearance and interaction brought back many fond memories for me.

Lyle's costume is definitely not Adventure era. It does look most like the one designed by Barry but it's not quite that one either.

One other glaring difference that caught my eye. The rocket ship club house was all red, not the traditional yellow body with red fins.

These differences could be just another artists take or they could mean something significant. No way to tell just yet so I'll be along for the ride as we find out.

I kinda hope we don't get the entire team, just to increase the chances of having more bits like that.

Does anyone have any idea how the LSH showing up in Dreamwar (Cham & Invis Kid) fit into the "Legion of 3 Worlds" bit? From Cham's costume, I'm not sure to which of the in-play versions he might relate.

I know basically nothing about Dreamwar, so if someone could clue me in as when it comes out, and which issues LSH are in, I'd very much appreciate it.

btw, the term "Dream War" just opened a ton of ideas to make Dream Girl more interesting.

Hey yeah I didn't thikn about that. Man I have got to pick up that book even more now!

I read somewhere that when DiDio was pressed about the 52 universes in the Multiverse he said "for now". There was an implication that the Multiverse may cease to exist in Final Crisis or at least some of the Universes will.

If so the 1000÷3=1 has even more significance (but should it not be 1000*3=1).

I think Dreamwar is the early days of the Lightning Saga Legion and 3 Worlds/Final Crisis will kill off the other two Legion universes. Will XS or Gates for example survive (like Power Girl after CoIE)?

Do you know what? The first preview page above made me realize what one of the things that I consider to be an essential essential characteristic of the "real" Legion is: roundtable meetings of the active membership. These events are just so Legionesque to me, for some reason. Sadly, this incarnation of the Legion doesn't have 'em, which says a lot about team unity and concenus, or the lack thereof. ** SIGH! **

some of the costumes look classic but they are slightly off. Cos, Lightning Lad, and T-Wolf all are sleeveless. Triplicate Girl seems to have a new costume we've never seen.

And I'm with Mediocre Boy...miss those roundtable meetings.

Wait...just read it...CHIMERA LAD????

Timber Wolf has his Cockrum costume. What looks sleeveless in the roundtable scene actually is shown in the later scenes to be orange. I agree the Lightning Lad's and Cosmic Boy's costumes are off.
