I want your alibi on my desk and I want it now.
EVERYONE'S A SUSPECT.
Someone around here is a murderer most foul, and you cannot hide your evil stench from the nasal cavities of Justice! Be warned. You WILL be found.

I was busy setting up stuff in the Mainframe in case the "Priestess" didn't stop attacking LW.
And hell, I let Yellow drag me along on his Smallville "try to resurrect Faraway" trip to stop him doing a Hal Jordan on the timestream.
What you SHOULD be asking is "why didn't Faraway auto-teleport away with the FA Force?"

I've been locked up on Medicus until this morning. Gyml and those accursed Daxamites wouldn't let me leave without a complete checkup. They wouldn't even let me access my porn stash or hyperpath any hot chicks. "Compassionate Aliens" my aa....aaand they were pretty thurough. Yeah, that's it. Reboot, I'd appreciate it if you'd keep my office up to date on your investigation. Where the heck is 3G?

DON'T. SCARE. ME. LIKE. THAT. EVER. AGAIN.
I mean it.
Put a disclaimer in the thread title.
I really thought Darden was dead for a minute.

Grey, you REALLY think someone would announce a real, genuine, real-world death with the obviously-parodic "Where were YOU the night N was killed"? Originally posted by Yellow Kid: Reboot, I'd appreciate it if you'd keep my office up to date on your investigation. Prime's investigation, not mine

?? I figured you'd be halfway to a solution before the rest of even knew about the mystery.
Never mind updating the office then. -you know where to hyperpath me-

I apologize to Greybird. Steve we've been working through multiple threads in a tag-team adventure and I doubt anyone even thought about a thread title alarming somebody that way. We really don't mean to be confusing on the issue of silly and serious. I know KP didn't mean that to happen. I'm sorry we upset you buddy.

Sorry Graybird, I just never thought anyone would take such a title seriously.
Rest assured Darden is fine he and I are sitting waiting for the plane to take us to New York.

Reboot, As for using the FForce to save himself well maybe someone with access to all sorts of technology found a way to stop him using it? You are some sort of technowizard arn't you?? and you have a history of attacking and chipping some poor innocent clones. Mmmmmm I wonder

No harm done, folks, fortunately, but this ended up being a problem for me on other occasions ...
[Reboot] { Grey, you REALLY think someone would announce a real, genuine, real-world death with the obviously-parodic "Where were YOU the night N was killed"? }
Yes. I've seen my own "death" announced twice in as flippant a manner by some damned idjits. This was on the older Bulletin Board Systems (pre-Web) in the late '80s. Several people I knew well in Chicago took it seriously until I could get on line to disabuse them of the notion.
It's better to not take such chances. Someone could get more than an anger or anxiety attack at such news about someone they know. I've heard of it inducing heart attacks.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Greybird here. There are subjects wth which you have to be very careful with. Death isn't funny.

Technology, inherent power, or magic. All three are equally possible, wouldn't you agree? Originally posted by Gigglebot Girl: You are some sort of technowizard arn't you?? Which, contrary to your implication, I have never attempted to hide. Originally posted by Gigglebot Girl: and you have a history of attacking and chipping some poor innocent clones. This is where I become confused - I have no "history of attacking" anyone, I deplore personal violence. If you are referring to the Viviane-directed Cobalt clones that were ravaging Legion World, I hardly consider them "innocent," and those were the only clones I could have said to have attacked. As for "chipping," I've "chipped" precisely one person - Cobalt, with the built-in teleporter, since LegionWorld is in no condition for another daemon invasion, such as he was inviting, so soon after Viviane's attacks. And that didn't have to be a "chip" - I merely found it ironic to tag him with something which could be described as such. Originally posted by Gigglebot Girl: Mmmmmm I wonder Expect a letter from my solicitor shortly unless I recieve a fulsome apology for this libellous implication forthwith.

It's a most solemn occasion when we see a hero struck down. Sometimes I fear for the rest of us when a member as powerful as Faraway can fall to the dark forces that surround us on all sides. It's time for us to come together and remember the hero that was one of us for so long.
Recrimnations can wait, blame can be assigned tomorrow, the mission to hunt down a hero killer will begin soon but for the moment we ought to turn our thoughts to our comrade. GiGi has need of our strenghts and our heartfelt affection.
Well, that and we can start the wake at Shakes as soon as we lay our companion to rest.

You see, the thing is, I'm starting to be convinced of the possibility that Faraway Lad might not be dead.
Or at least very nearly dead. Where's Miracle Max?!?

Well, medically, he's not dead. I mean, if all that port and ale hasn't done him in yet, I don't think there's much that he can't withstand...

This is true, but even if he's not dead, there still may be an attempted killer on the loose.

That there definately is! And he must be found! We have every reason to believe this killer might actually be a traitor from the ranks of the LMB itself!

Is there evidence for this that didn't come from any prophecy-type writings or hallucinatory journeys?

We also have to keep open the possibility that this is symptomatic of a much larger conspiracy here at Legion World. Looks like I got back from my study of the sacred Transformers texts just in time!!!

And thank heavens! Your return, my return of powers and Miner's sobering up, er, well, something similar to it represent a possible 'turning of the tide".
We need to crack this conspiracy wide open!

The crack of conspiracy is indeed smelly here on Legion World these days.
Could this have anything to do with the the usurpation by Yellow Kid of my post as LMB Leader while I was off studying the sacred Transformers texts?

Hm...I don't think so...that was more a handful of posters having 'one of those days', ya know?
I think this may have to do with the rash of unfinished LMB plot-lines since late summer though! Could this traitor have been working against us all along? As in: purple K/body swapping craziness/missing gender reversal germs/hiding the Royal Inquisitor/rumors of a LOMBSV/etc.?
If not, wouldn't it be cool if we pinned all this on him/her/it anyway?

It makes sense. Not one of those plotlines were ever finished.
For that matter, neither was my term as LMB Leader! Could it be that I was the unwitting prey of the mastermind behind all of this? Could my idea to spend time in solitude studying the sacred Transformers texts actually have been implanted in my brain somehow?
(Checking head for implant chip.)

Good lord!
You've been a victim throughout all of this too, Kippers! The 'unsolved plotline' MO fits perfectly!
In fact, the whole 'chip in the head' plotline could argueably still be labeled as 'unfinished'!

I... I think I need to sit down.
To think, the idea that I needed to spend time in seclusion studying the sacred Transformers texts was all implanted in my head by some evil... IMPLANTER out there.
Maybe if I hadn't gone into seclusion to study the sacred Transformers texts, this smelly conspiracy would never have found fertile soil in which to fester. Maybe if my brain hadn't been in the long run such a playground for the sentient who implanted the chip, this series of events would never have happened. Maybe if I had been around... Faraway Lad would still be alive.
I feel such a terrible weight of sadness.

No, my friend, you must undurdern yourself from this weight. This was not your doing, but the acts of some hideous, horrible enemy of ours, and it's time we rectified the situation!
We've already made huge steps! Now, to find the identity of this enemy!
And buck up, LMBers! Faraway Lad *is* still alive! My spiritual awareness powers can tell me that much! There's still hope yet!

!!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!! When Adam Warlock rebooted himself as the leader of the infinity watch, he cast out all his good and evil, but they became two separate malevolents, the Magus and the Goddess!!! When Reboot rebooted himself, could the same thing have happened? And if so, could, er, Sanity and Madness have been working behind the scenes here at Legion World this whole time? I think we need to know exactly when Sanity or Madness? became Reboot. It'll be interesting to see how the dates match up.

Thus, we can piece together this:
- Around summertime, this 'traitor' placed a piece of Purple K in the middle of the wrestling match b/t Eryk and me, in an attempt to hurt one or both of us.
- At roughly the same time, a case of gender reversal germs was stolen from Legion World by this unknown assailant.
- Kid Prime was 'influenced' by the assailant to spend his time studying the sacred texts of the Transformers during his tenure in office.
- This assailant has helped the Royal Inquisitor somehow hide from our Security Officers these last few months.
- The traitor has either A) helped form a Legion of Message Board Super-Villains or B) helped spread rumors of such a group to create a Legion World wide panic.
- The whole 'Chip in the Head Conspiracy', begun last summer/early fall between Reboot and myself was later revealed to be a plot by the Royal Inquisitor. However, given that our assailant is most likely working with the Inquisitor and KP has found yet another chip, this traitor is most likely partially responsible for this as well. Additionally, Reboot once found such a chip in his head, showing that this arch-villain has a history of infiltrating the LMB leadership while they are in office.
*GASP!*
What else could this person be involved in?

KP, this is roughly the same exact time as the "Chip in the Head scheme" and the "Purple K disaster" (re: end of summer).
They match up exactly!
Who was new around that time?

He was Reboot by early September of last year. For that matter, he was Reboot when he pulled that Giant Boxing Glove routine, so his excuse that it was his previous ID doesn't hold up.

I don't remember the process exactly. I found Glitch and he fixed my mood swings, although I lost my power to permanently split others into Sane and Mad counterparts in the process (not that I'd ever used it, so no great loss, and I got both Glitch & my shapeshift-"Reboot"s to more than compensate). I don't know exactly what Glitch did, and I don't think he does either.

Ah. You drunkenly invaded my home after stealing a child and proceeded to ignore all non-violent entreaties to leave. I was under exceptional provocation (NB: not all that bit was in the MF thread. What was the other one?) [/b]1) I wasn't drunk. 2) I stole no child, nor was I accused of stealing one. The accusation was I had neglected the kids, allowing them to be kidnapped. The problem was that the kids had not been given to me in the first place. (NB: Some of this went down in the Security Office.) 3) You never asked me to leave. At that point in time, we were in the last days of the handing over of our leadership. There was no "exceptional provocation".

I'm really beginning to believe that the body lying in state on Faraway World is naught more than a clever simalucrum, designed to make the LMB THINK him deceased.

Bah!
You Death-Deniers just want to re-write history to fit your own agendas!
Why, I ask? To have the spotlight of inquiry turned away from your vile conspiracy? Perhaps it was YOU TWO who did the deed? Who but Faraway's own doctor could so maginifently pull off such a stunt, anyway!?!

I've been in seclusion! Ask anyone!
I mean, those Transformers nuns at the gate don't let ANYONE past. It's a miracle I got the distress signal concerning Faraway's demise at all!

I was in the multi-lab, alone, all night.

While the two of you were inebriated, Crujectra and I loaded us into the Psyonian Embassy's teleportation thingamajimmers, and using the map provided by Eryk Davis Ester, were able to triangulate the position of Castle Faraway. Of course, I haven't the foggiest idea how we'll get back! But now that we're here, let's have a look at that "body."

By the way, I've been staking out Cramer's for a week or two. My caffiene level is all the way high.

Huh, I didn't know Faraway had ever died. We've gotta make some sort of list of LMBers who've died and come back to life...

Somehow I remembered that the Emerald Ass of Ekron was involved. Oy, I need to go check the archives.
