Hey everyone,

I met up with Faraway Lad on Thursday night. We were supposed to meet on Wednesday And I had said that we should meet at the entrance nearest the Street at Park Street Station. Well, I was waiting up on top outside and Faraway Lad was down inside. We both waited the same amount of time too, from 4:30 to 5:30. So we talked on the phone that night and agreed to try again. This time I said "Stay at the stairs when you get off the train." This time I was downstairs waiting by the trains. After a bit, when he hadn't shown, I thought "Oh let me check upstairs" And sure enough there he was, upstairs. We had switched spots from the previous day.

After that we headed to Harvard Square. Faraway Lad wanted to see the campus. This was also the second day of torrential rain. (There has been a bit of low-level flooding because of it)

So we got to Harvard Square and I took him into Harvard Yard. Now I go to Harvard Square quite often, but I never go into Harvard Yard. It was quite impressive and would have been moreso if it hadn't been raining. I then took Faraway Lad to Mr. & Mrs. Bartley's Burgers (now known as Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage) Bartley\'s Burgers
I don't see the burger Faraway Lad ordered on the web site, but he did have a candy Frappe (that's a milk shake with no milk but all ice cream) which he enjoyed immensely.

After dinner, I took him on a little walk around the square. We would have spent more time walking but the rain was just too much. We checked out a comic book shop, Million Year Picnic. Faraway Lad did pull out a list, but didn't find the back issues he needed.

After that we headed back into Boston. We went to Government Center and the Kinsale, an Irish Pub/restaurant Kinsale We chatted about this and that and the Legion (of course). Faraway Lad was going to take my picture when this guy at the next table offered to take our picture together. We let him, although I was worried that the guy might try to run off with Faraway Lad's camera. He didn't, but he did come back two more times to take our picture, which was just weird. Faraway Lad and I agreed about that after he left the pub.

Faraway Lad did take one picture of me after we had been at the pub for a bit. All I'll say is that there is more skin than clothing showing in that picture. Faraway Lad said he'd be charging for views of that picture.

Anyway, Faraway Lad and I may hook up again tomorrow night when he gets back from seeing Cobalt Kid and POV, if he gets back early enough.

Too bad about the rain, but it sounds like you had a great time. Hope we see those pictures soon! How much for the pay-per-view one?

Not so Faraway anymore!

Well, it's Sunday afternoon, and I can finally tell you about the great day that Pov, Far and I had yesterday!

To say Darden is charming is an understatement! He's a really great guy and we had a great time--to the point where it was getting late and none of us could believe the day flew by so quick!

We were able to chat for a bit, go see Hellboy, grab some food and a few drinks and enjoy the evening together, in what turned out to be a really great day! As always, Pov is a blast, and Darden was as great as you can imagine him to be. We laughed and made fun of all of you, and began formulating the next plan, our trip to Newcastle where I can go to the pubs and play up my Americanisms to pick up young girls .

Pov and Far can tell you more, since I'm still blown away by how fun it was and what great guys they are. I left with a gift from Darden and comics from Bri, showing that LMBers can't help but give things away when they're near each other.

And now it's final--Darden is not so Faraway anymore

PS- oh yeah, Pov and I forgot to scan my crayon Legion pic for Teeds thread! I blame Pov, and he blames me, but Darden said to blame it on the beer, so that sounds good to me ! For punishment, I offer my shins for a hard kick, and fully expect Pov to do the same. And now I promise to find a way to get the damn pic scanned!

Oh yeah, and thanks to Stu (when he comes back), for helping us set this all up through email!

I never DID get Darden to a proper comic shop...

We had so much fun talking at the restaurant after HELLBOY, we got to Wonderland Comics too late... just. 15 stinking minutes...

And thanks to daylight savings, we lost an hour out of our day today. So about all I could do was get him a proper breakfast and chauffeur him on his way back to Quistown.

All in all, a wonderful visit, if much too short. And a wonderful experience that cemented what was already a great cyber-friendship. Thanks for the picture of the bridge on the Tyne. It'll hold a place of honor in my new home.

Glad to see you made it home safely. Did you get to Salem?

I did and made it out safely. Had to burn a few witches first tho. GG was one of the first

salem was a nice place to visit, despite the snow.
