So, despite never having actually read any of his appearances, I'm fascinated by occasional Superman foe Grax, who was created by Jim Shooter at the same time he was writing the Legion. It strikes me that he would make a kind of groovy foe for the Legion, with his long-standing rivalry with Brainiac transferred to Brainiac Five. It would be fun to see him berate Brainy for his mere 12-level intellect and for only having two arms!

I also love Grax.
1. Has "20th-level intelligence".
2. Fails to display said intelligence by constantly creating overly complicated evil plans. Also talks to himself.
3. Comes from Exor, the same planet as Zan and Jayna, the "Wonder Twins".
4. Many more appearances in "Super-Friends" than with Superman.

Once wrote a fanfic depicting Brainy encountering Grax's descendant, a Medi-Center administrator, that due to the acrimony between their families, refuses to grant surgical privileges to Brainiac "Three-Fifths" (12 being 3/5 of 20) necessary to perform a life-saving operation on a critical patient.

Brainiac claims that ten of Grax's intelligence levels are permanently occupied with keeping his four arms from getting hopelessly entangled with themselves.
Grax notes that he, at least, has the decency to wear pants.
(My wife had a pair of Levis in the 1970's just that color of orange.)
Brainiac notes that Grax stole a pair of his white go-go boots.
A thousand years later, there is also the possibility of romantic involvement between Brainiac 5 and a Grax descendant...

I like to think Grax himself would still be alive a thousand years in the future. Unlike puny Coluans, who only live a mere few centuries, Grax's people live for millenia!
One reason I really like the idea of Grax is that I've always suspected the intelligence-scale used to rank Coluans is kind of bs anyway (much like IQ tests in the real world are questionable), so the idea of someone who scores significantly higher than the Coluans on the scale designed to show how smart they are just amuses me to no end.

Note that I consider this theory confirmed by the LSH in the 31st Century issue that introduces the CAIn-QuEx!

That's what I like about this forum. There are people who know who Grax is.

I have no doubt there is some connection between the original Grax and the old windbag representative: from Adventure 360, Duo Damsel in disguise gets into Boltax/Universo's office.

Great spot Cramer. Clearly there are many untold stories regarding Grax, (yet) another great survivor of the 20th century.

Hmm... I suppose "old windbag" could actually refer to Grax himself rather than the representative!
Great catch!
