No, Turkmenistan is on my list because of the so-called "Door to Hell": a fire that's been burning for over 40 years!

As for Uzbekistan, I have always been fascinated by its ancient silk road cities. Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva... It's no surprise that all four of Uzbekistan's properties on the UNESCO World Heritage List are ancient cities with beautiful and well-preserved architecture.

Oh, Jordan is definitely on my list! The beautiful rose-red city of Petra has captured my imagination from the first time I saw a picture!

Lebanon is interesting. It has quite a lot of impressive ruins (for such a relatively small country too!)

Byblos, Tyre, Anjar, Baalbek - some of these names were mentioned in the Bible.

Then we have the very impressive-sounding "Ouadi Qadisha (the Holy Valley) and the Forest of the Cedars of God (Horsh Arz el-Rab)". In ancient times the cedars were already very much sought after for use in construction.

I think I'm even more fascinated by Lebanon now that I've read up on it again! Most tours to the region ignore it, choosing instead to visit Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. When I do end up going (whenever that may be) I just might squeeze Lebanon in.

So I guess the answer isn't Lebanon!

What about a) Bhutan?

Not Lebanon smile

Not Bhutan either!

Besides the appeal of it being very expensive to get into (Bhutan regulates its tourist industry tightly, as they don't want to have too many people coming in at a time and eroding their culture and damaging their natural resources), there's this little gem called Taktsang Monastery, or the Tiger's Nest. Legend has it a sage flew to the spot on a tiger's back.

I also thought about doing a Thailand-Laos trip last year, but decided to spend more time in Thailand. I still want to visit Laos one day, though.

Myanmar is actually my next planned destination! From the day I saw this picture of hot air balloons over Bagan, I knew I would visit one day.

And after that, there's Shwedagon Pagoda and Mandalay Hill.

Not Sri Lanka. Much like Lebanon, Sri Lanka has an astounding number of beautiful sights packed into such a relatively small land area. Only where Lebanon had only 5 UNESCO sites, Sri Lanka has EIGHT - that's as many as the much larger Indonesia and South Africa, and more than the much larger Algeria (7 sites), Denmark with Greenland (6 sites), Thailand (5 sites) or Kazakhstan (4 sites).

Four of those eight are ancient sacred cities, with my personal favorite (which is top priority for me when I do finally get to visit Sri Lanka) being Sigiriya, the Lion's Rock..

Oh no, I've already researched an itinerary for Nepal.

It absolutely must include Kathmandu's Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Pokhara.

Well, I guess I'll guess Brunei, mostly because I've been to Mongolia and I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to visit there.

You've been to Mongolia? wow, that is awesome! I am really envious... because you are right, I do want to visit there!

Besides the wide open spaces, the Golden Eagle Festival also sounds interesting.

Brunei, despite being geographically nearest to me, does not hold much interest. Honestly, I don't think there's much to see there that can't be found in neighboring countries like Malaysia or Indonesia. The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is quite nice, but I've been to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi already. And I've already visited the Borneo rainforests in Kota Kinabalu, so visiting them again in Brunei isn't really a big draw for me.

Over to you, Xben.

Yeah, Mongolia was really nice - one of the "less spoiled by tourism" experiences I've had traveling. Now, that was 14 years ago, so who knows what it's like now.

OK, recently my wife, who has never really been into comics, decided that she quite liked...

a. The Flash
b. The X-Men
c. Bone
d. Astro City
e. Life with Archie
f. The Legion of Super-Heroes
g. Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade
h. Ambush Bug
i. Tom Strong
j. Superman, from the John Byrne era
k. Superman vs. Muhammad Ali
l. Superman for all Seasons
m. All-Star Superman
n. None of the above

Your Mongolia experience sounds heavenly, Xben. I'm all stoked to go now. Where else have you been, if you don't mind my asking?

I'll guess your wife likes...

N. None of the Above (just to get it out of the way)

Actually - that's the correct answer! In fact, she recently re-affirmed that she can't really stand comics (aside from maybe Calvin and Hobbes). She reads books far more than me, but doesn't like comics. It seems to be something to do with the fact that she finds it pain to pay attention to what picture she's supposed to look at next.

Well played, IB.

Wow! Lucky guess. If only that luck would come into play when I buy lottery tickets...

Calvin and Hobbes is a good choice, though, if she will only ever read one title.

Let's continue the line of questioning from my last question -

Which of these countries am I least interested in visiting?

a) Tanzania
b) Morocco
c) Mauritius
d) Zambia
e) Rwanda
f) Namibia
g) Angola
h) Madagascar
i) Mali
j) Benin
k) Mozambique
l) Ethiopia

Nope. Benin is supposedly the birthplace of voodoo, and has a few old royal palaces from the ancient kingdom of Abomey too. I'm very much interested to learn more about the culture.
