Do you remember, years ago, there was that horror anthology movie, "Creepshow," with one of the segments featuring Stephen King playing this guy who accidentally touched this alien substance which then promptly caused him to get a strange outbreak on his fingertips which, every time he touched something else, would then cause the outbreak to spread to whatever it was he touched and how, little by little, the sensation started to drive him batty, and how the only respite he thought he could find was by taking a bath and how, even though that temporarily worked, in the long run, it actually made it much, much worse?

Do you remember that?

Yeeeeeah... so... on a not entirely unrelated note... I have poison ivy.

But if you have Poison Ivy, how is she going to be the villain in this month's Batman comic?

Creepshiow is one of my favourite horror movies from childhood.

Dark Brown, Yellow and Green M&M's are the colors that have been used since they were first introduced up to the present day.

Also, I miss the Tan ones.

Me too. The new-ish red ones are alright, but the blue ones creep me out for some reason...

My favorite comic strip, Pugad Baboy (literally Nest of Pigs) is an incisive commentary on Filipino life. Majority of the characters are obese, though pigs could also refer to the corrupt and bumbling politician and cop characters.

Sadly, the jokes wouldn't be nearly as funny if they were in English.

It's already 26 years old.

Oh my gosh. It's as old as I am!

Kirsten Bell is so talented, you would think that someday she would be cast in a movie or TV series that did not stink.

It's Kristen Bell, KK! And haven't you heard of "Veronica Mars", the beyond-excellent TV series of which Kristen was the star? hmmm If you have and you thought said series stunk, then you and I will have to part ways, my friend! nod

Why Paladin, I never knew we had ways.

Oh, I know about Veronica Mars. I enjoyed Season One, but after she stopped being the bully’s bully and started being the poro, outcast victim, I lost interest. It is as if Batman was suddenly transformed into Jon Arbuckle.
Gossip Girl, Astro Boy, Frozen, and especially Miyazaki’s The Cat Returns are praiseworthy, although that was just voicework. And I understand some people liked Heroes.

But you must admit, the vast majority of the body of her work is stuff that you would pay to NOT see.

The "parting ways" thing was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I've only recently started watching VMars, and I'm absolutely loving the show. Though I haven't yet finished the series (I'm 3 episodes into the final season), I'm not seeing where she ever became a "victim". But she was an "outcast" of sorts right from the beginning, so I'm not sure where that was new. I'm curious to here more from you on this.

Now, I haven't seen much of her non-VMars work (though I saw her on Heroes and agree that was a step down), but i can't say I've seen or heard anything to the contrary to refute that her talents have been poorly utilized since then. Her roles in Heroes and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" were steps down, imo.

Well, it was nice to imagine for awhile we might have ways.

I can't really speak intelligently about V.Mars, as I watched it when it was originally broadcast-- what? a decade ago? (Gee, remember when we all had television sets?) I remember being somewhat disappointed in the direction of the show probably about half-way through the second season. Or maybe I just got busy.

But "poorly utilized" is the right phrase.

Share something else completely random... I just checked IMDB and Kristen Bell is thirty-four years old.

She's currently a lead in a show on Showtime called "House of Lies", but I've never seen it.

House of Lies is about a firm of consultants, right?

Working for a consulting firm myself, all I can say is... it's interesting tongue

Kristen Bell did really well in the episodes I watched.

It's okay. Georgia's nice, but the weather can get pretty humid in the summer.

I hate humidity, but I've gotten used to it. Manila's so crowded (and polluted!) that the almost year-round humidity is a lot worse than in most of the rest of the country.

I have a paper napkin scribbled on by a Nobel Prize winner who sat with me for a few minutes at a dinner in college. It's sits in an envelop somewhere in a closet. I just thought about it. Wish I'd had him sign it but at least I was aware enough to keep it.

One of those, "if I could tell my younger self," things: keep stuff and take photos. Helps the memory re-new.
